Astronics AeroSat Receives China IFC Certification Astronics AeroSat, recently received the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) Validation of Supplemental Type Certification (VSTC) of its satellite communications (SATCOM) connectivity system. Specifically, the VSTC validates Astronics AeroSat’s FliteStream® F-310 connectivity system and its new ARINC 791-style AeroShield™ radome and adapter plate system. Azerbaijan’s cargo carrier Silk Way West targets new China business Azerbaijani vargo carrier Silk Way West Airlines (SWW) is opening a new route and increasing the number of its freighter flights to China. The Azeri airline is launching a new twice-weekly flight from Baku to the major Chinese city of Tianjin, a route that will connect the airline’s hub in Baku with one of the leading industrial centres in northern China. BOC Aviation Delivers Airbus A320NEO aircraft to S7 Airlines BOC Aviation delivered a second Airbus A320NEO aircraft to S7 Airlines. CALC Delivers its First Aircraft under Hong Kong’s New Tax Regime Extending Hong Kong as One of its Major Leasing Platforms CALC announced 19 September that the Group has successfully delivered its first aircraft under the new tax regime through Hong Kong leasing platform. Mr. Mike POON, Chief Executive Officer of CALC, added, “The successful delivery marks the first time CALC, as a Hong Kong-based lessor, enjoys the concessionary tax benefits under the new tax scheme. We are proud that CALC is playing an active role in Hong Kong's aspiration in developing into an aviation financing hub. As Asia’s first listed aircraft lessor, CALC, will lease more aircraft to global airlines through Hong Kong going forward, to show our commitment and dedication in promoting the development of aircraft leasing and aviation finance industry in Hong Kong.” CDB Aviation Delivers First of Five A320neos to Loong Air CDB Aviation announced 18 September the delivery of the first of five Airbus A320neo aircraft to Hangzhou-based Loong Air. The delivery marks the first A320neo to join CDB Aviation’s fleet from its orderbook with Airbus. The A320neo, configured in a 174-seat layout and powered by CFM International LEAP-1A engines, is part of the lease agreement signed between CDB Aviation and Loong Air in 2015. The second A320neo aircraft is slated to arrive later this week, with the remaining three to be delivered between 2019 and 2020. China's civil aviation sector shows steady growth China's civil aviation sector expanded at a steady rate in the first seven months of the year, official data showed. Total air transport turnover reached 68.8 billion tonne-km in the Jan.-July period, up 12.8 percent year on year, a faster growth than the 12.5-percent increase for 2017, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China. China Southern Eyes Fleet Of 150 Widebodies By 2020 China Southern Airlines wants its fleet to include about 150 widebody, long-haul aircraft by 2020 as the airline seeks to broaden its route network. And, the carrier wants to increase its total fleet to 1,000 by 2020. First AVIC MA700 on track for delivery in 2022 The first Aviation Corp. of China (AVIC) MA700 turboprop airliner is on track for delivery in 2022, the manufacturer said in a program update. AVIC is aiming for validation of the MA700’s intended Chinese type certificate by both the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the FAA. First Chinese C919 landing gear delivered to COMAC The Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) said first China-made landing gear for the C919 large passenger aircraft has been delivered to the developer. According to AVIC, the locally-made nose landing gear and main landing gear have been through various tests before being delivered by a China-Germany joint venture to the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), the developer of C919. They were made by Liebherr LAMC Aviation (Changsha) Co., Ltd. 7 Million Chinese to Travel Abroad This Golden Week It is estimated that nearly 7 million mainland tourists will travel abroad during the National Day holiday this year, accounting for about 5 percent of the total number of outbound tourists throughout the year, leading Chinese online travel agency Ctrip said in a recent report.
