AerCap Leased, Purchased and Sold 157 Aircraft in the First Quarter 2022 Dublin based aircraft lessor AerCap signed 102 lease agreements in Q1/22, including agreements for 14 widebody aircraft, 62 narrowbody aircraft, two regional jets, eight engines and 16 helicopters. In the quarter, AerCap also completed 25 purchases for 23 aircraft (including 15 Airbus A320neo family aircraft, one Airbus A220 aircraft and four Boeing 737 MAX aircraft for its owned aircraft portfolio and three aircraft for its managed aircraft portfolio) and two engines. The aircraft lessor also executed 30 sale transactions for 26 aircraft (including two Airbus A320 family aircraft, three Airbus A320neo family aircraft, two Airbus A330s, three Boeing 737NGs, one Boeing 767-300ER, two Boeing 777-200ERs, one Boeing 737-300SF, five Embraer E190 E2s and one Embraer E190 from its owned aircraft portfolio and six aircraft from its managed aircraft portfolio), two engines and two helicopters. The lessor also signed financing transactions for approximately $2.1 billion. ASL Orders Up to 20 Additional 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighters to Drive Environmental Sustainability Dublin-headquartered ASL Aviation Holdings (ASL) and Boeing announced an order for up to 20 additional 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighters (BCF). The agreement is for 10 firm orders and 10 purchase rights. This is ASL's second order for the 737-800BCF and including options, will bring the organization's total 737-800BCF orders and commitments with Boeing to 40 aircraft. The aircraft will be converted by Boeing at approved MRO sites including STAECO in Jinan, China and at Boeing's London Gatwick MRO facility in the United Kingdom. ASL Aviation Holdings CEO Dave Andrew stated “This new order is an important element of our fleet renewal programme, and we are delighted to expand our partnership with Boeing on the 737-800BCF. The 737-800BCF offers increased reliability and performance, and equally its lower fuel burn reduces our environmental footprint. This is very important to ASL as an aviation group committed to environmental sustainability in aviation." Avolon completes placement of over 500 VX4 eVTOL aircraft Avolon has announced that it has exceeded its 500 unit pre-order of Vertical Aerospace’s VX4 electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft within nine months. Avolon CEO Dómhnal Slattery said “Today marks an important milestone on our eVTOL journey, as we have now fully placed our VX4 orderbook with some of the leading international airlines and aviation companies all over the world. The opportunities to deploy the VX4 are enormous and, as is evident with our placement progress to date, zero emissions eVTOL air travel will reshape the short-haul travel market.” CDB Aviation Signs New Sale and Leaseback Agreement with Volaris for Five Airbus Aircraft CDB Aviation announced the lessor entered into a new sale and leaseback agreement with its existing customer, Volaris for a fleet of five Airbus aircraft, encompassing two A320neos and three A321neos. The new agreement brings the number of CDB Aviation aircraft on lease to Volaris to a total of thirteen aircraft, which were secured through the lessor’s orderbook with Airbus, as well as Sale and Leaseback transactions with and without Pre-Delivery Payments. Four of the aircraft were already delivered and the further nine will be delivered by the fourth quarter of 2024. SMBC Aviation Capital delivers Airbus A321neo to VivaAerobus SMBC Aviation Capital announced the delivery of one (1) Airbus A321neo aircraft (MSN 10742) equipped with two PW1133G-JM engines to VivaAerobus.
