CDB Aviation Lease Finance Increases Global Footprint With New Executive Appointments

CDB Aviation Lease Finance announced 6 March two new executive appointments: Lucas Mollan as Chief Technical Officer and Peter Goodman as Head of EMEA. CIT agrees to sell stake in TC-CIT

CIT Group Inc announced that it has reached an agreement to sell its 30 percent ownership stake in the commercial aircraft leasing joint ventures TC-CIT Aviation Ireland and TC-CIT Aviation U.S., Inc. to its joint venture partner Tokyo Century Corporation (TC). The share purchase is expected to close on or prior to March 31, 2017, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions. Following this transaction, TC will be the sole owner of the entities. In October 2016 the company announced a definitive agreement to sell CIT Commercial Air, its commercial aircraft leasing business, to Avolon Holdings Limited (Avolon), the international aircraft leasing company and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bohai Capital Holding Co. Ltd.

Engage Aviation announces placement of Two CRJ200 to APEX Air, China delivered by Air Nostrum

Engage Aviation announced the delivery of the second of two CRJ200 to the business chartered flight services provider Apex Air Co. Ltd. on behalf of Air Nostrum. This is the second of two aircraft, the first; MSN 7915 was delivered on the 14th of November 2016.

Hong Kong attracts aviation leasing with new tax regime

Hong Kong is to offer new tax concessions for offshore aircraft lessors in a bid to encourage companies to domicile their aviation leasing business in the territory, as part of moves to build up its financial services activity. The proposed new tax regime is likely to be put before the Legislative Council in April. It will usher in a taxable profit of 20% of the net rental income, provided the aircraft is leased to a non-Hong Kong aircraft operator.

Lucky Air receives first widebody in long-haul push

Lucky Air has received its first widebody, an Airbus A330-300, which will be used by the low-cost carrier to operate long-haul services according to Flightglobal. The aircraft registration B-5971 Flight Fleets Analyzer data indicates that the 2015 built was firstly operated by Hainan Airlines and is owned by Tianjin Bohai Leasing.
