Air China to Launch New Beijing-Houston-Panama City Service

Air China will launch a new route from Beijing to Panama City via Houston. The new route is expected to greatly facilitate exchanges between both countries as well as neighboring regions while providing passengers with a greater range of options. The Beijing-Houston-Panama City route will be operated by Boeing 777-300 ER (Extended Range) aircraft that are popular with business travelers.

China Cargo Airlines begins cargo flights between Shanghai-Pudong and Frankfurt

Frankfurt Airport welcomed China Cargo Airlines to Germany’s largest aviation hub with a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony. The airline, a subsidiary of China Eastern, is the latest cargo airline to start operations at the airport, where it will now be linking Shanghai-Pudong and Frankfurt twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays. China Cargo Airlines expects to increase the frequency of its flights to Frankfurt after obtaining additional traffic rights.

China Airlines upgauges Brisbane and Melbourne to A350-900

China Airlines’s Australian network has become an all-Airbus A350-900 operation following the upgauging of its Brisbane and Melbourne services to the next generation widebody. The airline has said previously the replacement of the A330-300s with the A350-900 on its Australian routes – China Airlines also serves Brisbane – was part of efforts to win passengers travelling to Europe via its Taipei hub.

Hong Kong Airlines to operate seasonal service to Moscow

With the FIFA World Cup 2018 taking place in Russia, Hong Kong Airlines will launch a seasonal thrice-weekly service* linking Hong Kong and Moscow from 18 May to 27 October 2018. Hong Kong Airlines will deploy an Airbus A330-300 on its new service between Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) and Moscow Vnukovo International Airport (VKO).

Xiamen Airlines and Boeing signed purchase agreement for 30 B737 MAX

Xiamen Airlines and Boeing signed a purchase agreement for 30 B737 MAX — 20 B737 MAX 8s and 10 B737 MAX 10s, worth about US$104 million and US$116 million, respectively, at list prices. The aircraft will be delivered in stages to Xiamen Airlines between 2019 to 2022, of which five B737 MAX 8s will be delivered in 2019, seven MAX 8s in 2020, eight 8s and seven MAX 10s in 2021, and three MAX 10s in 2022.
