Air Belgium to launch first service April 16 to Hong Kong
Air Belgium will begin ticket sales April 3 for flights set to launch April 16. Initial flights will serve Hong Kong from the carrier’s base at Brussels South Charleroi Airport. Later Air Belgium will fly to mainland China using Airbus A340-300 aircraft.
Air China Limited Announces 2017 Annual Results
The Group recorded a turnover of RMB 124.026 billion in 2017, an increase of 7.71% from the same period last year. Air transport revenue was up 7.53% year-on year to RMB 115.380 billion. Air passenger revenue was up 6.19% while air cargo revenue was up by 23.48%. And other operating income was RMB 8.646 billion, representing an increase of 10.19% year-on-year. In 2017, China passenger aviation market continued to show strength in demand and supply while outbound travel demand continued to rise, international traffic grew steadily, and cargo business showed signs of recovery.
BOC Aviation orders six Boeing 787-9s
BOC Aviation has signed a purchase agreement with Boeing for six 787-9s, in a deal valued at $1.69 billion at list prices. The company says in a stock exchange disclosure that the aircraft are expected to be delivered in 2018 and 2019.
China’s airlines declare profit
Air China and Shanghai-based China Eastern Airlines both posted solid profit growth in 2017 as increasing travel demand by the country’s growing middle class helped to offset sharply higher fuel costs. China is now the world’s second-largest aviation market.
Etihad Airways celebrates ten years of operations in China
Etihad Airways operates to and from China until said as it celebrates ten years of operations in China this week it has carried almost 4 million passengers to China.The airline first launched an Abu Dhabi to Beijing service in 2008, followed by Chengdu in 2011, Shanghai in 2012 and Hong Kong in 2015. It also has code-share partnerships with Hainan Airlines, China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines.

The Hong Kong Aircraft Leasing and Aviation Finance Association announced ICBC Leasing has officially launched its new aircraft leasing platform – ICBC Aviation Leasing Company Limited – in Hong Kong. This is ICBC Leasing’s aircraft leasing platform qualified under HK’s new tax regime for aircraft leasing. To mark this very special development, ICBC Leasing hosted a launch ceremony for its Hong Kong aircraft leasing operation on 28th March in Hong Kong. In December last year, Hong Kong’s new tax regime for aircraft leasing welcomed its first aircraft leased by ICBC Leasing’s Hong Kong platform to Korean Air Lines Co., Ltd.
