BRV China-backed eVTOL Start-up Zerog Closes Nearly RMB10 Million Seed Round

Zerog, a Chinese electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft developer, recently completed a nearly RMB10 million (USD1.48 million) seed round with BlueRun Ventures China (BRV China) as the sole investor. The financing closes as the Nanjing-based start-up unveils ZG-ONE, its pioneering eVTOL aircraft product for low-altitude tourism. The Zerog is the only publicly known eVTOL firm in China that is simultaneously developing eVTOL aircraft with three configurations: multi-rotor, composite wing and tiltrotor. Managing Partner BRV China, Terry Zhu said “In order for eVTOLs to fully flourish, there are certain complex technological thresholds to break through. The Zerog team possesses full-stack technical skills and product engineering capabilities. We are confident they can empower eVTOLs into much wider applications.”

CALC signs SLB agreement with China Southern Airlines for 10 B737 aircraft in support of the airlines’ fleet optimization

China Aircraft Leasing announced that it has entered into a sale-and-leaseback agreement with China Southern Airlines Co., Ltd.(“CSA”) for a total of 10 Boeing B737-700 aircraft. The aircraft are scheduled to be delivered no later than end of June. CALC won a bid for two Boeing portfolios consisting of 10 old B737-700 aircraft aged 10-18 years from CSA via Shanghai United Assets and Equity Exchange through an open bidding process.

Chongqing Jiangbei Airport orders 100 elevators with voice recognition

ThyssenKrupp (TK) Elevator has supplied more than 100 customized elevators, with gesture and voice recognition, to Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport in China. PIA set to resume weekly flights for China from 11 June

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is all set to resume its weekly commercial passenger flights on Islamabad-Xian and Beijing-Islamabad routes from 11th June following Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) approval. Last month during a meeting between Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chinese State Councillor and Foreign Minister Wang, agreed on increasing connectivity between the two countries.

Sino Jet to be carbon neutral by 2035

Sino Jet plans to align with the aviation industry emission contribution target, utilise the company’s technological advantages, to achieve carbon neutrality in its self-own fleet, ground support businesses and office operations in 2025. And by 2025, Sino Jet aims to drive more than 20% of its managed aircraft to achieve carbon neutrality in flight operations, and ultimately achieve carbon neutrality in the entire Sino Jet group in 2035. The carrier has already begun with the development of a carbon management system that is suitable for business jet operations, fully integrable with its information management system, to create a quantifiable, traceable green aircraft operation.
