Boeing, China’s STAECO announce freighter capacity increase

Boeing and Taikoo (Shandong) Aircraft Engineering Co. Ltd. (STAECO) have announced plans to create additional capacity for the 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) to help meet continued strong market demand. In 2022, Boeing will add two 737-800BCF conversion lines at STAECO’s facility in Jinan, China. The first new line will open in the first quarter of the year, with the second line expected to begin conversions by summer. STAECO will have seven conversion lines dedicated to the 737-800BCF.

CDB Aviation Signs International Aircraft Lease Agreements for Five A320neo Aircraft with Avianca

CDB Aviation announced the signing of international aircraft lease agreements with Colombia’s flag carrier Aerovías del Continente Americano S.A. Avianca (“Avianca”) for a fleet of five Airbus A320neo aircraft with deliveries from the lessor’s order book planned for 2022 and 2023, the aircraft are leased on a long-term basis and configured with three different seat types: Premium, Plus, and Economy. CDB Aviation Head of Commercial, Americas Luís da Silva stated “We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with the longest running airline in the Americas through a transaction that will help drive the carrier’s new strategy, with environmentally sustainable, new technology aircraft. These new technology aircraft, featuring lower fuel consumption and superior operating characteristics, will advance Avianca’s commitment to the environment and position the airline for a very bright future amidst the ensuing recovery.”

China Aircraft Leasing Group (CALC) delivers 150th aircraft

China Aircraft Leasing Group (CALC) began its 15th anniversary celebrations with the taking of 150th aircraft in its fleet as the group delivered another A320neo to the Chilean carrier SKY Airlines at the Airbus facility in Toulouse. Zhao Wei, chairman of China Everbright and CALC stated “As its investment philosophy, CEL believes in connecting different industries and integrating them into one another deeply. CALC is Asia’s first one-stop aircraft solutions provider nurtured by CEL. Today, we are grateful in celebrating the 15th anniversary of CALC. The group’s fleet has reached 150 aircraft.”

China to boast more than 5,000 aircraft by 2025

China’s civil aviation transport industry will resume steady growth, adding a total of 7,646 new civil passenger aircraft over the next 20 years, according to industry reports. By 2025, China’s total number of aircraft will likely reach 5,343, according to the reports issued by the Aviation Industry Development Research Center of China.

Hungarian Government’s new A330 freighter starts commercial operations between Hungary and China

The Hungarian Government’s new freighter has started commercial operations between Hungary and China. The Airbus A330-200 freighter is being operated by Wizz Air three times a week on the ‘Aerial Silk Road’ between Budapest Airport in Hungary and Zhengzhou Airport in China.
