AVIC Harbin Sees Big Market for Y-12 in Brazil

AVIC Harbin representative JCranes’s Jorge Theodoro dos Santos has high hopes for the Y-12E and Y-12F utility twin-turboprops manufactured in China. He sees a Brazilian potential of 220 aircraft, split between passenger and cargo uses, and he is resolved to supply those markets. “It’s one thing sell an aircraft,” he said. “It’s another to sell the aircraft, supply technical support, and to build it here.” AVIC, he says, has decided to invest here, “with an investment the size of the Chinese government.”

Chinese Aviation Industry Tests Waters in Brazilian Markets for First Time

The Chinese are preparing to enter the Brazilian aviation industry with its famed twin-engine planes and manufacture them locally, a business executive said on Tuesday. Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) representative Jose Santos told Xinhua news that his company plans to commercialize the first Chinese plane and set up a plant in Brazil.

China sees 93 new general aviation airports in first half of year

China is embracing a burgeoning general aviation industry with 93 newly-licensed general aviation airports and an expanding fleet of aircraft in the first half of the year, according to civil aviation authorities. The number of general aviation airports more than doubled from 80 by the end of 2017 to 173 by June, according to statistics from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

China signs aviation pacts with 62 Belt and Road countries

China has, to date, signed bilateral intergovernmental air transportation agreements with 125 countries and regions, with 62 of them along the Belt and Road trade initiative, according to the country’s aviation authority. The CAAC will continue to support connectivity and facilitate trade and cultural exchanges among countries along the Belt and Road initiative.
