Air Lease Corporation Announces Delivery of First of Six New Airbus A321-200neo Aircraft to China Airlines

Air Lease Corporation announced the delivery of one new Airbus A321-200neo aircraft on long-term lease to China Airlines.  Featuring Pratt & Whitney PW1133G-JM engines, this is the first of six new A321-200neos confirmed to deliver to the airline from ALC’s orderbook with Airbus.  This aircraft is the first A321neo to deliver to China Airlines. CEO & President of Air Lease Corporation John L. Plueger said “ALC is honoured to be the first to introduce the A321neo to our long-time customer China Airlines.  The A321neo will become the backbone of China Airlines’ single-aisle fleet, providing fleet expansion and modernization, and elevation of their passenger experience to new levels.  The greater fuel efficiency and operating flexibility of the A321neo will also maximize profitability and further China Airlines environmental sustainability goals.”

Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) Issues Airworthiness Directive for Boeing 737 MAX

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) last week issued its final airworthiness directive (AD) outlining the flight manual and hardware and software changes required for lifting its ban on the Boeing 737 MAX. Boeing said in a statement “The CAAC’s decision is an important milestone toward safely returning the 737 MAX to service in China. Boeing continues to work with regulators and our customers to return the airplane to service worldwide.”

CALC receive two IR awards for its steady business performance amid the pandemic

CALC was named “Outstanding Aviation Enterprise” in “Hong Kong Outstanding Listed Enterprises 2021” hosted by financial magazine EDigest, and later received “ListCo Excellence Award 2021” co-organized by another two financial press am730 and in recognition of its steady performance amid the pandemic, attributable to its full value chain aircraft asset management abilities. The judging panels comprising of fund managers and investment analysts also highlighted CALC’s ESG endeavors to provide various fleet upgrade services to promote sustainable aviation.

CASL backs joint MRO deal with China, Hong Kong, Macao

China Aircraft Services Limited (CASL) expressed its positive support to the “Joint Maintenance Management Cooperation Arrangement” jointly signed by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), the Civil Aviation Department of Hong Kong (CAD) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Macao (AACM) on 30 November. The new agreement will facilitate aircraft maintenance licence holders issued by the three authorities to work in the aircraft maintenance organisations located in the three places.

China to boost support for development of small, medium airports

China will introduce policies to support and give subsidies to ensure sustainable development of small and medium airports nationwide, according to civil aviation authorities. airports with annual passenger throughput of less than 2 million will receive support, said a notice issued by  the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

EHang targeting eVTOL certification in China ‘in the next few months

Chinese eVTOL developer EHang said the company is on track to obtain type certification approval for its EH216 with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) “in the next few months.”
