Aeroflot takes delivery of two new A320s from SkyCo

Aeroflot has taken delivery of two more Airbus A320 narrowbodies. Both aircraft have been delivered straight from the factory via Lithuanian lessor AviaAM Leasing. The acceptance procedure for the first aircraft (s.n. 7836, registration code VP-BTA) was completed on September 28 in Toulouse. The second one (VP-BLN) was handed over to the operator two days later in Hamburg. The aircraft are owned by China’s SkyCo International Financial Leasing. AviaAM Leasing reports that they are being delivered within the lessor’s second phase of cooperation with Aeroflot.

American, China Southern Apply For Expanded Codesharing

American Airlines and China Southern are applying for beyond-gateway codesharing on flights between the U.S. and China. The two airlines already codeshare on their gateway flights. American serves.

BOC Aviation looks for new homes 13 aircraft after Monarch collapse

BOC Aviation said it was working to find new homes for 13 Boeing 737 -8 MAX aircraft it had planned to lease to collapsed British carrier Monarch Airlines. BOC, which is based in Singapore but majority owned by Bank of China, had agreed to the long-term lease arrangement in June. The Boeing aircraft were due to be delivered from mid 2018 to 2020, BOC Head of Investor Relations Timothy Ross said.

China Airlines issues NT$2.1 billion in bonds

China Airlines has issued NT$2.1 billion ($69 million) worth of domestically-issued bonds in two tranches. The first tranche of notes, totalling NT$100 million, matures in September 2020 and attracted a coupon rate of 1.14%. The remaining NT$2 billion tranche matures in September 2022, and attracted a coupon of 1.45%. China Airlines says that the funds raised will be used to repay loans.

China Eastern and Delta complete Air France-KLM buy-in

SkyTeam members Air France, Delta Air Lines and China Eastern Airlines have completed a series of share transactions aimed at strengthening their strategic partnership. Under the agreement, which was originally announced July 27, China Eastern and Atlanta-based Delta are each taking a 10% stake in Air France-KLM, which will in turn acquire 31% of UK-based long-haul carrier Virgin Atlantic. “Each of China Eastern Airlines and Delta Air Lines now holds 10% of Air France-KLM’s share capital and has consequently one director representing it at Air France-KLM’s board of directors,” Air France said in a statement.

Ethiopian Airlines leases Airbus A350 from Ping An Leasing  

Ethiopian Airlines has signed a 12-year contract with Ping An Leasing for the lease of a new Airbus A350 XWB . The aircraft was acquired and immediately leased to Ethiopian Airlines by one of the main new players on the international leasing market, Ping An Leasing
