AirAsia India gets nod for 1st international flight

Tata Group’s AirAsia India (AAIPL) has received formal approval to operate its first international flight this month, nearly eight years after it started operation will operate a non-scheduled cargo flight on Kochi-Dubai-Kochi route.

Bengaluru Airport third busiest airport, emerges as transfer hub for South India

Bengaluru International Airport Authority Limited (BIAL) in an press release said Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (BLR Airport) is the third busiest Airport in India. The release on February 7 further said that the BLR airport has emerged as the preferred transfer hub for South India. BLR Airport serves 74 domestic destinations, the highest ever since airport opening date, versus to 54 routes during pre-Covid and is also the highest amongst South Indian Airports. The geographical location of Bengaluru and the growing economy of the State of Karnataka has helped in positioning BLR as the major aviation gateway of South and Central India.

Emirates starts first class service from Thiruvananthapuram

Gulf global connector Emirates started its first class services on Dubai to Thiruvananthapuram route on its three times weekly Boeing 777-300(ER) service, in a three-class cabin configuration offering 8 seats in First Class, 42 in Business Class and 185 in Economy Class.  The Adani Group in a press release said “This is the newest addition to Thiruvananthapuram International Airport Limited’s passenger amenities improvement efforts.”

Go First Starts “Priority Boarding” Service To Reduce Waiting Time

Go First announced “Priority Boarding” service to cut down the waiting time for its passengers. The service is available on all domestic and international flights and will be applicable for all departing destinations on the airline network. In an statement the carrier said “The service is available for pre-purchase across all channels i.e. GO FIRST website, mobile app, contact centres, counters and agents. It can be availed up to 2 hours before domestic departure and up until 3 hours before international departure.”

Jet Freight plans to operate an Indian all-cargo airline with international reach

Jet Freight Logistics is a 30 year old Indian freight forwarding company with a focus on air freight. In December 2021 plans to launch a new all-cargo airline using a fleet of Boeing 747-400s or Boeing 777s focusing on B2B market to Asia, Europe and North America.

Tata Group excited to make Air India the airline of choice, says Ratan Tata

Tata Group is all set to change Air India with enhanced passenger experience in every aspect of the value chain. On February 2, the airline tweeted a 19-second video with the message of Ratan Tata. The message stated “#FlyAI: A warm welcome extended by Mr. Ratan Tata, Chairman Emeritus, Tata Sons, Chairman, Tata Trusts, to our passengers on board Air India flights. The Tata Group welcomes Air India’s new customers and is excited to work together to make Air India the airline of choice in terms of passenger comfort and service,”

Vistara seeing signs of recovery, optimistic about future: CEO Vinod Kannan

In a conversation with IANS, Vistara’s Chief Executive, Vinod Kannan, said till now pandemic has triggered uncertainty and reiterated the importance of staying “agile”. He cited that the airline is observing a steady increase in traffic in February 2022 compared to the previous month and is gradually restoring its international route network adding Colombo, Dubai and Singapore.
