Air India’s first-ever direct flight from Hyderabad to London service

Air India’s first-ever non-stop flight from Hyderabad to London commenced last Friday. Air India flight AIC147 from the GMR Hyderabad International Airport even as senior officials at the airport, Air India officials and other airport stakeholders celebrated the milestone operating twice weekly using Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

Bangalore Airport Chooses Plaza Premium Group to Reinvent Passenger Services

Plaza Premium Group (PPG) has been appointed by Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) to manage passenger services at the Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (KIAB/BLR Airport). This is in line with BIAL’s vision to provide delightful travel experiences at BLR Airport. The 10-year full-service management appointment covers the entire portfolio of BLR Airport’s 22 services. The 360-degree airport service delivery scope includes: service delivery, control center, training center, customer engagement, marketing communications, sales and distribution as well as technology. The agreement covers a wide range of services, including meet and assist, porter services, luggage storage and flower booking, PRM (Persons with Reduced Mobility) services, limo services, concierge services, valet parking, car spa, travel concierge, pet care service, personal shopper, robotic assistance etc. and more services will be introduced to enable an end-to-end and globally connected passenger journey.

Boom in aviation sector soon, says TAFI MP unit chairman

Delhi International Airport Limited gets CII awards for most energy-efficient unit

The GMR-led Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has won the prestigious awards given by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) — ‘National Energy Leader’ and ‘Excellent Energy Efficient Unit’. DIAL has been recognized with both accolades for the 2nd and 4th year in a row, said a press statement.  The objective of these awards is to recognize the companies engaged in energy-efficiency initiatives that adopt best practices and technological advancement in their daily operations.

India begins international flights to 18 countries in September

India has commenced flights to 49 cities under Air Bubble arrangements with 18 countries starting this month. According to the latest notification by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, special international flights can be operated by respective airlines under an air-bubble pact between two countries.

100-day plan: Four new airports in the pipeline, says Civil Aviation Minister

Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Thursday unveiled a 100-day plan comprising policy measures and development of airports along with heliports. Under the plan, new airports will come up in four cities. 50 new routes will be launched under regional connectivity scheme in 100 days. The minister also announced a policy for maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) activities to attract more investment. The 100-day plan has been prepared after combined consultations focusing on 16 areas including infrastructure development, policy and reforms.
