India’s ​Air Deccan eyes post-crisis relaunch with new aircraft 

Air Deccan is in talks with an aircraft manufacturer as the Indian carrier prepares to restart operations once the coronavirus crisis stabilizes, chief executive Arun Kumar Singh has disclosed reported Flightglobal 24th April.

India’s first cargo-on-seats international flight moves perishables to Abu Dhabi

IndiGo operated country’s first-ever international flight with cargo on seats from Kochi to Abu Dhabi. William Boulter, Chief Executive Officer, IndiGo notes that the aircraft transported fresh vegetables and other supermarket supplies for Indian expatriates in the United Arab Emirates in his LinkedIn post. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on April 1, 2020, allowed Indian airlines to use their passenger flights and even their main cabin to move freight. Butit also came with some stringent guidelines about what to carry on seats.

Stardustjets Teams with Heron to Launch Indian Charter Services

Indian private aviation startup company Stardustjets is launching a partnership with German charter operator Heron Aviation. The companies plan to offer aircraft from Heron’s eight-strong fleet for charter flights in and out of India. Stardustjets is in the process of negotiating to purchase a midsize jet that it intends to base at an as-yet-unconfirmed location in the country from late 2020 reported AINonline 22nd April.

301 flights operated under #LifelineUdan, covering over 3 lakh km to deliver essential medical cargo to various parts of the country

Lifeline Udan flights cover over 3 lakh km of aerial distance to transport around 507.85 tons of essential medical cargo. 301 flights have been operated under Lifeline Udan by Air India, Alliance Air, IAF and private carriers. 184 of these flights have been operated by Air India and Alliance Air.. ‘Lifeline Udan’ flights are being operated by MoCA to transport essential medical cargo to remote parts of the country to support India’s war against COVID-19. A portal for coordinating Lifeline Udan flights was developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC) and MoCA to enable seamless coordination between various stakeholders.
