AerCap CEO questions durability of jetmakers’ output plans
The head of aircraft leasing group AerCap on last Tuesday expressed confidence in airline demand despite a slowdown in the aerospace business cycle, but questioned the durability of plans by Airbus and Boeing for some output increases, according to an report on Reuters. Airbus and Boeing have set out plans to increase production of best-selling models by 30 percent near the end of the decade.
AerCap found buyers for SriLankan A350-900s within three weeks: report
AerCap has had found new buyers for three airbus Airbus A350-900 aircraft within three weeks, a media report said. Reuters quoted Chief Executive Aengus Kelly as saying that there was demand for Airbus A350-900 and Boeing 787-9 but it was more difficult to sell A350-1000, 787-10, 777X and the A380. When Sri Lanka’s national carrier was unable to take three Airbus A350-900s for financial reasons, AerCap was able to find new homes within three weeks, Kelly told Reuters.
AerCap posts $1.04 billion profit in 2016
Ireland-based lessor AerCap reported a net profit of $1.04 billion on a reported basis for the year ended Dec. 31, 2016, compared to $1.17 billion for the preceding year on revenue of $5.15 billion. AerCap executed 458 aircraft transactions in 2016, including 126 involving widebodies and closed more than $3 billion in deals. The average age of its owned fleet was 7.4 years.

Avolon announced 22 February the delivery of one Airbus A320NEO aircraft to Garuda. This is the eighth Avolon aircraft on lease to Garuda.
AWAS to Lease Five Airbus A320 Aircraft to ANA
AWAS and ANA Holdings Inc. have agreed to the lease of five Airbus A320 aircraft in their low cost carrier subsidiary, Vanilla Air. The aircraft will be delivered in 2018 and are part of a direct order AWAS has with Airbus. Vanilla Air currently has 11 A320-200 aircraft in service to destinations across Japan and East Asia
Goshawk deliver first of four B787-9 aircraft to Etihad Airways
Goshawk announced the acquisition of one Boeing 787-9 aircraft on long – term lease to Etihad Airways. The delivery is the first of a four- aircraft transaction with Etihad, with the remaining aircraft scheduled to be delivered in 2017. The transaction also involved an innovative structured PDP financing facility for the four aircraft. The delivery represents the first B787-9 in the Goshawk fleet, and the first aircraft on lease to Etihad Airways.
SKY Leasing Completes Successful Launch Year
In 2016, SKY Leasing, a full-service aircraft leasing company headquartered in Dublin, originated an initial portfolio of 18 aircraft with an appraised value of approximately $1.0 billion, diversified globally across 14 different lessees including Aeroméxico, China Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, Malindo Air, and Volaris.
