Airbus’ A321LR goes the distance to open new horizons for airlines

The best-selling A320 Family marked a milestone on 14 February with a Paris-to-New York nonstop flight flown by the A321LR – demonstrating this jetliner version’s ability to serve new markets and operate on heavily-travelled North Atlantic routes with the highest levels of efficiency and comfort. Its ‘long legs’ are signified by the No. 1 A321LR’s livery featuring the Eiffel Tower and Statue of Liberty – a representation of the Paris/New York route flown yesterday from Le Bourget Airport near the French capital to the New York region’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. The aircraft also is well suited for intra-regional airline segments in Asia, the United States and other markets.

Air Lease Corporation Announces the Placement of Airbus A320-200neo with Atlantic Airways

Air Lease Corporation announced a long term lease agreement for one Airbus A320-200neo with Atlantic Airways, the national airline of the Faroe Islands. The aircraft will deliver in March 2019 from ALC’s order book with Airbus.

Alaska Airlines, Virgin America and its flight attendants reach tentative merger agreement

Alaska Airlines, Virgin America and the Association of Flight Attendants announced they have reached a tentative merger agreement for the airline’s 5,400 flight attendants. The merger agreement includes competitive pay raises, increase in retirement contributions and quality of life benefits and preserves all productivity of Alaska Airlines existing contract.

Boeing 737 MAX 9 Awarded FAA Certification

Boeing announced that the 737 MAX 9 has received an amended type certificate (ATC) from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), officially certifying the airplane for commercial service. Boeing’s new 737 MAX 9 has received FAA certification and is now being prepped for first delivery. This certification marks the culmination of a successful flight test program that began in March 2017 with two Boeing flight test airplanes. The FAA certification affirms that the airplane’s handling, systems and overall performance all comply with required aviation regulations.

Delta pays employees more than $1 billion in profit sharing for fourth consecutive year

Delta Air Lines announced it will pay out more than $1 billion in profit sharing for the fourth year in a row and celebrate the outstanding accomplishments made possible by its more than 80,000 employees around the world. Delta employees earned the $1.1 billion payout for their role in delivering record-breaking operational and customer satisfaction performance as well as strong financial performance.

Republic Airline Reaches Contract Extension with Pilots

Republic Airline’s 2,000 pilots, represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 357 (IBT), have ratified a contract extension to their 2015 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), extending the amendable date to Jan. 1, 2021. The extension, which includes immediate pay increases and other improvements, was reached and ratified well ahead of the October 2018 amendable date.

Vacation Express Returns to Memphis with Non-Stop Flights to Cancun

Vacation Express looks forward to providing travelers non-stop service from Memphis International Airport to Cancun every Saturday starting May 19, 2018 with the last departure flying August 4, 2018. Flights to Cancun will be operated by Volaris on an Airbus A320 aircraft.
