BOC Aviation Delivers Third Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner Aircraft To Spanish Carrier Air Europa BOC Aviation announced that it has delivered the third of seven new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners committed for lease to Air Europa under a purchase and leaseback transaction. One more aircraft will be delivered in fourth quarter 2019 with the remaining three aircraft scheduled for delivery by the end of the fourth quarter of 2020. All seven aircraft are to be powered by Rolls Royce Trent 1000 engines. BOC Aviation Delivers Third Of Three New Airbus A350 Aircraft To Qatar Airways BOC Aviation announced 30 September that it has concluded a purchase-and-leaseback transaction with Qatar Airways for three new Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The aircraft are powered by Rolls Royce Trent XWB engines. The third delivery occurred on 27th September 2019. China Eastern Airlines to trial three times weekly Perth Shanghai nonstop Perth Airport has secured a new Chinese carrier with China Eastern to fly between Perth and Shanghai Pudong over a five-week period in early 2020. The nonstop service would operate three times a week from January 15 2020 until February 17 2020 covering the Chinese New Year period – with Airbus A330-200 aircraft China Southern, Qatar Airways ink codeshare agreement China Southern Airlines has signed a codeshare cooperation agreement with Qatar Airways, and pending approval commencing 14 January 2020. Under the agreement, China Southern passengers will be able to purchase Qatar Airways flights on its website, or an authorized third-party channel, and transit via Doha to 80 other destinations in Middle East, Africa and Europe First Commercial Flights from Beijing's New US$63 Billion Airport Take Off The first commercial flights from Beijing's new Daxing International airport took off last week. Shaped like a phoenix - though to some observers it is more reminiscent of a starfish - the airport was designed by famed Iraqi-born architect Zaha Hadid. It boasts four runways and is expected to handle up to 72 million passengers a year by 2025, eventually reaching 100 million. It was hailed as "a new powerful source of national development" at a ceremony overseen by President Xi Jinping, just days ahead of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. A China Southern Airlines Airbus A380 flight to Guangzhou in the country's south was the first to aircraft to depart. Himalaya Airlines to transfer Chinese ownership, introduces new logo Himalaya Airlines, a Nepal-China joint venture private international carrier of the country, is preparing to transfer the Chinese ownership of the company. Currently, Tibet Airlines has 49% stake in the airline while Yeti World Investment Pvt Ltd has 51% stake. However, now the company is preparing to transfer the share of Tibet Airlines to Tibet Civil Aviation Development and Investment Company. With this new organizational structure the new Chinese firm will have 65% stake share while Nepali company will hold 35% stake in the airline. Loong Air Announces New Service from Xi'an Airport to Uzbekistan Zhejiang Loong Airlines (Loong Air) announced on September 26th that a new charter service from Xi'an to Uzbekistan would in operation. The schedule listing calls for twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday starting from September 27th. Xi'an (XIY) - Tashkent (TAS) operates with an Airbus A320 with 173 seats. The launch of the XIY-TAS-XIY charter flight is the result of negotiations between the Uzbekistan Embassy in China and Zhejiang Loong Airlines on increasing the tourist flow from the PRC to Uzbekistan.
