Air India expects to report operating profit again: CMD

Enhancements in operating efficiency and better aircraft utilisation have aided Air India to reduce its losses during the first quarter of the current fiscal. According to Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Air India, Ashwani Lohani, passenger revenues during the first 4 months of the current fiscal year grew by 20%.

Amritsar top International Destination for flights from Melbourne Avalon Airport

Amritsar is in the limelight as a top destination from a foreign country airport. Amritsar has emerged as the top onward destination from Melbourne Avalon Airport on Air Asia X flights. As per a report published by “Geelong Advertiser” newspaper from Geelong situated in the suburbs of Melbourne Avalon airport, Amritsar is the top onward destination for passengers flying from Melbourne Avalon to Kuala Lumpur.

Eco-Friendly Cutlery, Paper Packaging for Chips as Air India Bans Single Use Plastic in Flights

Air India is going to ban 1st use plastic from 2nd October. In the first phase, it will be implemented in all flights of Air India Express and Alliance air flights. The 2nd phase will be implemented in Air India flights.

Emirates SkyCargo moved 18,000 tonnes of perishables from India since May 2019

Emirates SkyCargo moves around 4,000 tonnes of fruits, vegetables and other perishables from India every month. Since May 2019, Emirates SkyCargo has moved 18,000 tonnes of perishables from India alone. Produce exported from India include summer fruits such as mangoes and guavas and vegetables such as okra, drumstick and chillies.

In a major boost to 'Make in India', HAL-made Dornier 228 can be used for commercial regional flights in Europe

Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd's (HAL)-made Dornier 228 can now be utilised for commercial regional flights across Europe. European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has accepted DGCA certification for this plane that is being manufactured at HAL's manufacturing facility in Kanpur. Notably, this is the first instance where an Indian manufactured aircraft will be used for commercial flights across Europe. The aircraft is being used for commuter transport, third level services and air-taxi operations, India navy and coast guard duties and maritime surveillance.

IndiGo to start flights on Delhi-Riyadh and Delhi-Kuwait route from October 11

IndiGo will begin operations on the Delhi-Riyadh route from 11 October, making the Saudi Arabian capital its 22nd international destination. The airline said it would also be operating flights on the Delhi-Kuwait route from 11 October. William Boulter, Chief Commercial Officer of IndiGo, said “Riyadh has tremendous potential as a centre of commercial and political activity and we are convinced that our services will do well there, as they have done so far to Jeddah."

Nearly 15 aircraft added per month to ease passenger traffic: Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri

Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that 10-15 aircraft are being added per month to deal with the increasing passenger traffic. The Minister added “Today we have in air 690 aircraft. We are adding 10-15 aircraft per month. We are looking forward to a scenario when we will have 2000 registered aircraft flying." Singapore Airlines to launch reconfigured A380 on Mumbai route Singapore Airlines’ is to launch reconfigured A380 on Mumbai route with effect from 1st September. The new Singapore Airlines A380 will be configured with 471 seats in four classes, featuring six Singapore Airlines Suites and 78 Business Class seats on the upper deck, as well as 44 Premium Economy Class seats and 343 Economy Class seats on the main deck.

Vistara starts daily flights to Bangkok from Delhi

Vistara launched its daily service to Bangkok from Delhi using Airbus A320Neo aircraft.
