Alaska Airlines and aircraft technicians ratify final Transition Agreement in Virgin America merger Alaska Airlines' 900 Airbus and Boeing aircraft technicians, who are represented by the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA), have ratified a Transition Agreement and an Integrated Seniority List. This ratification vote will combine the Boeing and Airbus technicians into a single group, a crucial step in the Alaska Airlines-Virgin America merger. Air Lease Corporation Announces Lease Placement of Two New Airbus A320-200neo Aircraft with Vietnam Airlines Air Lease Corporation announced 17th July long-term lease agreements with Vietnam Airlines for two new Airbus A320-200neo aircraft. The two new A320-200neos are scheduled to deliver to the airline in Fall 2020 from ALC’s order book with Airbus. American Airlines and Qantas Receive Final Approval to Form Joint Business American Airlines 19th July welcomed the U.S. Department of Transportation’s final approval of a joint business agreement with Qantas. Final approval follows the DOT’s tentative approval of the joint business in June. American’s Chairman and CEO Doug Parker said “We look forward to working closely with our valued partner, Qantas, on this new joint business.” Boeing and Korean Air Finalize Order for 20 787 Dreamliner Airplanes Korean Air has finalized an agreement with Boeing [NYSE: BA] to order 20 787 Dreamliner airplanes – including 10 each of the 787-10 and 787-9 models – valued at $6.3 billion according to list prices. Along with an agreement to lease 10 additional 787-10 jets from Air Lease Corporation the carrier will quadruple its 787 fleet as it looks to bring greater efficiency and passenger comforts to its operations. Building for the future at AAF Spares new Miami HQ AAF Spares, the joint venture business between Avtrade and AFI/KLM E&M, have relocated to a building that perfectly complements the impressive scale of their ambition. Moving from a 15,000 sq ft building to a new state-of-the-art 50,000 sq ft warehousing facility will provide access to an inventory valued at $760m, and will further improve and expand support to the North and South American markets. United Airlines Resuming Service Between New York/Newark and Delhi and Mumbai United Airlines announced it is resuming its daily nonstop service between New York/Newark and Delhi and Mumbai on 6th September (eastbound), and 7th September (Westbound) with Boeing 787-9 aircraft. United's Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Nocella stated “We are excited to get back to connecting our customers and our employees to India as our teams prepare to restart our daily service to both Delhi and Mumbai.
