ATSG Deploys 767 Freighters to Support DHL Network Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) announced that it deployed a Boeing 767-300 converted freighter in June in support of the DHL Express network in Asia under the terms of a stand-alone ACMI agreement with DHL-Bahrain. This agreement is to provide capacity support for general express freight and delivery of COVID-19 related relief supplies to Sydney, Australia. ATSG subsidiary Air Transport International (ATI) is operating the flights from Hong Kong to Sydney via Guam. An additional Boeing 767 has been deployed under a separate ACMI agreement between DHL Express and ATSG to serve routes from Chicago O’Hare Airport (US) to Cologne Bonn Airport (Germany) via East Midlands Airport (England). Aviation Capital Group Announces Closing of $1 Billion Senior Unsecured Notes Offering Aviation Capital Group LLC announced the closing of its sale of $1 billion aggregate principal amount of 5.500% senior unsecured notes due 2024. ACG intends to use the net proceeds from the Notes for general corporate purposes, including repayment of outstanding indebtedness and the purchase of commercial aircraft. Bombardier Delivers 350th Challenger 350 Bombardier is celebrating the 350th delivery of its super-midsize Challenger 350, a milestone reached some six years after the 3,200-nm-range twinjet entered service. Bombardier Business Aircraft senior v-p of worldwide sales and marketing Peter Likoray said “The 350th delivery of a Challenger 350 aircraft, reached after only six years in service, speaks volumes. This achievement shows the great confidence customers place in this aircraft and demonstrates Bombardier’s production proficiency and strong supplier base.” Breeze To Launch Scheduled Service in May 2021 Breeze Aviation has entered into an agreement to lease 15 Embraer E190s from Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) for a planned scheduled service launch in the U.S. next May. Breeze and Airbus have agreed to defer delivery of the first of 60 A220-300 narrowbodies by six months until August 2021. Plans call for Airbus to deliver the second in September and then another one per month starting in January 2022. Breeze plans to start operating charter flights this November out of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. GA Telesis Announces the Purchase of One (1) V2527-A5 Engine from Air New Zealand GA Telesis announces the purchase of a V2527-A5 engine from Air New Zealand. Alex Tuttle Chief Operating Officer, Component Solutions Group said “This transaction was a great collaboration between our Asset Transaction Group and Component Solutions Group. We are excited to have worked with Air New Zealand in procuring this engine and look forward to continue supporting our airline customers worldwide.” Global Crossing Airlines Names Dean of the University of Miami Business School to Airline’s Advisory Board Global Crossing Airlines announced the appointment of Mr. John Quelch to the GlobalX Advisory Board. He will be working with GlobalX’s board and management on current trends in corporate governance, leadership and executive and team training. JetBlue’s West Coast Focus City Strategy Lands at LAX JetBlue announced it will make Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) its primary base of operations in greater Los Angeles, advancing its focus city strategy and building relevance for the airline in one of the busiest markets in the world. To enable the shift, the airline will move service currently operated at Long Beach Airport (LGB) to LAX, along with its Long Beach crew and maintenance bases, beginning in October. Scott Laurence, head of revenue and planning, JetBlue said “LAX is one of JetBlue’s most successful markets and offers the valuable opportunity to grow significantly both domestically and internationally while introducing our low fares on more routes. The transition to LAX, serving as the anchor of our focus city strategy on the West Coast, sets JetBlue up for success in Southern California.
