Aero Capital Solutions Acquires Twenty A320 Family Aircraft From easyJet Through Sale-and-Leaseback Aero Capital Solutions announced the acquisition of twenty A320 family aircraft from easyJet Airline Company Limited on a sale-and-leaseback basis. The transactions were completed in two tranches during 2020. Government of Canada approves proposed purchase of Transat A.T. Inc. by Air Canada The Honourable Omar Alghabra, Minister of Transport announced that the Government of Canada has approved the proposed purchase of Transat A.T. Inc. by Air Canada, subject to strict terms and conditions that are in the interests of Canadians. In determining the proposed purchase is in the public interest, the Government of Canada considered a broad range of factors, such as level of service, wider social and economic implications, the financial health of the air transportation sector, and competition. JetBlue Announces Leadership Appointments JetBlue announced several leadership appointments, which began rolling out last year, as the company fills key roles to help manage the airline through the recovery from coronavirus by generating customer demand, maintaining its cost performance, and running a safe and efficient operation. Dana Shapir Alviene has been promoted to vice president, airports experience, leading operations across JetBlue’s 100-city network.  Jayne O’Brien is JetBlue’s head of marketing and loyalty, responsible for the airline’s brand, marketing and advertising, e-commerce, TrueBlue loyalty program, as well as its onboard product. Whitnee Hawthorne has been promoted to vice president, customer support. Thomas Howell was promoted to vice president, safety and regulatory compliance, continuing to lead the operations function while taking on leadership for all safety programs. Spirit AeroSystems Announces Full Redemption of Senior Floating Rate Notes due 2021 Spirit AeroSystems announced that it has given notice of its intention to redeem in full the outstanding $300 million principal amount of its Senior Floating Rate Notes due 2021 on 24 February 24, 2021. The Notes will be redeemed at a redemption price of 100.000% of their principal amount, plus accrued and unpaid interest to, but excluding, the Redemption Date. Sun Country Airlines Holdings, Inc. Files Registration Statement for Proposed Initial Public Offering Sun Country Airlines announced that it has filed a registration statement on Form S-1 with the Securities and Exchange Commission relating to a proposed initial public offering of its common stock. The number of shares offered and the price range for the proposed offering have not yet been determined. Sun Country Airlines intends to list its common stock on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol "SNCY." Volaris Taps Pratt & Whitney GTF™ Engines to Power an Additional 80 Airbus A320neo Family Aircraft Pratt & Whitney and Volaris announced the selection of the Pratt & Whitney GTF engine to power an additional 80 A320neo family aircraft. Pratt & Whitney will also provide Volaris with engine maintenance through a long-term EngineWise®Comprehensive service agreement. Volaris previously placed an order for 44 GTF-powered A320neo family aircraft. This brings Volaris’ total commitment to 124 GTF-powered aircraft.
