Azul announces expansion of international network from Brazil to the United States Azul announced two new markets from Brazil to Florida - Belo Horizonte to Orlando, and Belem to Fort Lauderdale (Miami). These new routes will begin in December 2017, providing unparalleled nonstop service and convenience for our customers in Belem and Belo Horizonte. In addition to the nonstop service, Azul has optimized the connectivity to Belem and Belo Horizonte and surrounding cities so that we not only offer the best nonstop, but also the best connection options to and from Orlando and Fort Lauderdale. Boeing Board Elects Caroline Kennedy as New Director The Boeing board of directors has elected Caroline B. Kennedy as a new member. Kennedy, 59, served as U.S. Ambassador to Japan from 2013 to 2017 and is an author and attorney. "Ambassador Kennedy brings to the Boeing board professional, diplomatic and global perspectives that are highly valued in our rapidly evolving and increasingly competitive global business environment," said Boeing Chairman, President and CEO Dennis Muilenburg. "Her diversity of experience and accompanying insights will broaden and strengthen our board in its deliberative and oversight roles for the company." ExpressJet Airlines Announces Contract Realignment and Long-Term Plan ExpressJet Airlines announced the initiation of a clearly defined long-term strategy. Long-term agreement secured with United Airlines. As part of this plan, ExpressJet has secured a new, five-year extension of its United Airlines ERJ145 contract, effective Jan. 1, 2018 through Dec. 31, 2022. The new agreement enhances ExpressJet's United partnership and provides long-term stability to its model. It also provides ExpressJet pilots with continued access to United's Career Pathway Program. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Honeywell Connected Aircraft Software Reduces Fuel Use For Two National Carriers By Up To 5 Percent Honeywell is helping reduce fuel use on 71 aircraft for two national carriers through its Connected Aircraft GoDirect™ Fuel Efficiency software. The technology now being deployed at Brussels Airlines and Air Serbia is part of Honeywell's GoDirect suite of more than 50 connected aircraft services. Honeywell's offering uses data analysis, reporting and monitoring tools to identify fuel-saving opportunities that make flying more cost-efficient and better for the environment. United Airlines announces daily flights from Paine Field United Airlines is returning to Paine Field, in Everett. The airline hopes to make traveling more convenient for people who usually travel out of Sea-Tac by offering daily flights to Denver (DEN) and San Francisco (SFO), will begin in October 2018. United Airlines to Start Nonstop Seasonal Service Between Mazatlán, Mexico and Chicago and Houston United Airlines announced it will start new nonstop seasonal service to Mazatlán, Mexico from its hometown hub at Chicago O’Hare and its Latin America gateway at Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport. “We are pleased to offer the only nonstop service between Mazatlán and Chicago O’Hare and Houston Bush Intercontinental,” said Jake Cefolia, United’s vice president of Sales. “United has provided nonstop service from the U.S. to Mexico for the last 50 years and we look forward to serving Mazatlán, United’s 24th destination in Mexico.” Acumen Aviation © 14 August All Rights Reserved.
