Aviation Capital Group Takes Delivery of its Second Boeing 787 Dreamliner Aviation Capital Group LLC announced 22 March it has taken delivery of its second Boeing 787 Dreamliner in Everett, Washington. The aircraft, a Boeing 787-9, is on a long-term lease to LOT Polish Airlines, and is the first of three Boeing 787-9’s to be delivered from ACG’s orderbook and leased to LOT Polish Airlines. The remaining two aircraft are scheduled to deliver to LOT in April 2018 and February 2019. Boeing, All Nippon Airways Finalize Order for Two 777 Freighters Boeing and All Nippon Airways (ANA) announced the Japanese carrier has placed a new order for two 777 Freighters valued at $678 million according to list prices. While ANA is a major operator of the 777 passenger jet, it has grown its cargo operation with the medium-sized 767 Freighter. Boeing Delivers World's First 787-10 Dreamliner to Singapore Airlines Boeing and Singapore Airlines today celebrated the delivery of the first 787-10 airplane, the newest and largest member of the Dreamliner family. The 787-10 provides airlines the lowest operating cost per seat of any widebody airplane in service today. Singapore Airlines plans to puts its 787-10s into scheduled service in May, with flights from Singapore to Osaka, Japan and Perth, Australia. Prior to the introduction of these services, the aircraft will be operated on selected flights to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur for crew training purposes. Ethiopian Airlines Launches Split Scimitar® Winglets in Northern Africa Aviation Partners Boeing (APB) announced that Ethiopian Airlines has become the first operator in Northern Africa of its latest Split Scimitar Winglet technology. The first installation of the System was completed on March 20, 2018, at its MRO in Addis Ababa. Ethiopian Airlines intends to install the Winglets on its fleet of Boeing Next-Generation 737-700 and 737-800 aircraft. Hong Kong Airlines expands North America network with San Francisco launch Hong Kong Airlines Sunday 25 March celebrated the launch of its new A350 service to San Francisco. The City by the Bay becomes the airline’s third destination in North America, following the successful launch of services to Vancouver and Los Angeles in 2017. LOT's Dreamliners goes up - LOT to collect the first of larger B787-9 LOT Polish Airlines took delivery of it’s first Boeing 787-9 on 23 March. The first aircraft was registered as SP-LSA will be operated on the Warsaw- Chicago route (flight no. LO3/4). The second and third aircraft are scheduled to be delivered in 2018. These will operate flights to New York City (LO26/27), Toronto (LO45/46) and occasionally to Seoul under the LOT’s livery. Qatar Airways’ Cutting-Edge Airbus A350 Lands in Atlanta Qatar Airways announced the launch of Airbus A350-900 on its Atlanta route. The airline operates a daily service from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), and offers more than 150 destinations worldwide via the airline’s home and hub, Hamad International Airport (HIA) in Doha, Qatar. Xiamen Airlines and Boeing signed purchase agreement for 30 B737 MAX Xiamen Airlines and Boeing signed a purchase agreement for 30 B737 MAX -- 20 B737 MAX 8s and 10 B737 MAX 10s, worth about US$104 million and US$116 million, respectively, at list prices. The aircraft will be delivered in stages to Xiamen Airlines between 2019 to 2022, of which five B737 MAX 8s will be delivered in 2019, seven MAX 8s in 2020, eight 8s and seven MAX 10s in 2021, and three MAX 10s in 2022.
