ABRA Group Leases Seven Airbus A330-900neos from Avolon
ABRA Group announced that it has entered into operating lease agreements with Avolon Aerospace Leasing Limited for five Airbus A330-900neo aircraft, with deliveries scheduled throughout 2026. Additionally, the group has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) for up to two more A330-900neos. ABRA, which controls GOL and Avianca and holds a strategic investment in Wamos Air, stated that aircraft allocation across its airlines will depend on each operator’s financial and operational requirements. The group emphasised that ownership and associated costs will remain with the respective operator. The transaction further expands Avolon’s widebody leasing footprint in Latin America and underlines growing demand for new-generation, fuel-efficient twin-aisle aircraft in the region’s recovering long-haul market.

Airborne Capital announced the delivery of a second Boeing 767-300BCF widebody freighter on long-term lease to Georgia-based Geosky Airlines. Founded in 2017, Geosky is an established and expanding cargo carrier operating a fleet of four Boeing 767-300BCFs following this latest addition. Airborne Capital Founding Partner Cian Dooley said, “We are delighted to announce this transaction and to cement our relationship with Geosky Airlines as a client partner. Market interest in these aircraft remains strong, and we look forward to the successful remarketing of the remaining 767-300BCF aircraft in due course.” The deal reflects sustained demand for converted widebody freighters as air cargo continues to play a vital role in global supply chains.

TrueNoord announced it has signed a firm order with Embraer for twenty new E195-E2 aircraft, valued at approximately US$1.8 billion at list price. The agreement also includes purchase rights for up to twenty additional E195-E2s and ten E175-E1 aircraft. CEO Anne-Bart Tieleman commented, “This landmark agreement represents TrueNoord’s first direct order with an aircraft manufacturer – a milestone in the company’s journey. It marks an important stepping stone in our continued growth as a global leasing platform and underscores our commitment to investing in next-generation, fuel-efficient regional jets.” The order strengthens TrueNoord’s position in the regional aircraft leasing segment and supports Embraer’s growing momentum for the E2 programme among lessor customers.
Acumen’s Take
On Avolon’s Lease to ABRA Group
Avolon’s agreement with ABRA Group highlights the increasing role of widebody leasing in supporting Latin America’s airline consolidation model. The A330-900neo’s efficiency and range make it an attractive choice for Avianca and GOL’s network strategies. For Avolon, the deal enhances long-term exposure in a region poised for recovery and growth.
On Airborne Capital’s Geosky Lease
Airborne Capital’s continued partnership with Geosky Airlines signals resilience in the secondary widebody freighter market. The 767-300BCF remains a cornerstone of medium-haul cargo operations, and Airborne’s successful placements underline Ireland’s strength in managing and marketing converted aircraft assets globally.
On TrueNoord’s Embraer Order
TrueNoord’s direct order with Embraer marks a strategic inflection point for the lessor, shifting from secondary market acquisitions to OEM partnerships. The commitment strengthens TrueNoord’s E2 portfolio and positions it at the forefront of regional fleet modernisation as airlines seek sustainable, right-sized aircraft for post-pandemic recovery.
