Norwegian Group Places Order for Boeing 737 MAX 8
Boeing and Norwegian Group have signed a deal for 30 additional 737-8 aircraft, expanding the airline’s 737 MAX order book to 80 aircraft. This is Norwegian’s first direct Boeing order since 2017 and underscores its ongoing fleet modernisation strategy. The airline, which has operated Boeing single-aisle aircraft since 2007, views this agreement as a move toward fleet flexibility, fuel efficiency, and sustainability.
Geir Karlsen, CEO of Norwegian, noted that the agreement secures long-term fleet growth while aligning with environmental and operational goals.
Turkish Airlines Orders up to 75 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, Eyes More 737 MAX
Turkish Airlines has placed a landmark order for 75 Boeing 787 Dreamliners—35 787-9s, 15 787-10s, and options for 25 more. This deal represents the flag carrier’s largest ever widebody order. Additionally, the airline announced its intent to purchase up to 150 more 737 MAX aircraft, doubling its current Boeing fleet.
Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO Stephanie Pope stated: “We are honoured that Turkish Airlines has once again chosen the 787 Dreamliner and 737 MAX to power its future growth.”
Uzbekistan Airways Orders up to 22 Boeing 787 Dreamliners
Uzbekistan Airways announced a significant agreement to acquire up to 22 Boeing 787-9 aircraft—14 firm orders and options for 8 more—making it the largest aircraft purchase in the airline’s history. This move supports Uzbekistan Airways’ plans to expand its long-haul international network and modernise its widebody fleet.
Boeing’s Brad McMullen stated: “With its fuel efficiency and operational flexibility, the 787 Dreamliner will help Uzbekistan Airways expand into new markets, connecting more travellers to their rich culture.”
