TrueNoord Delivers Three Airbus A220-300 Aircraft to Breeze Airways

TrueNoord completed the delivery of three factory-new Airbus A220-300 aircraft to Breeze Airways in February under a long-term sale-and-leaseback agreement. The transaction marks TrueNoord’s first Airbus deal and introduces the largest aircraft type in the lessor’s portfolio to date. The A220-300 aircraft will support Breeze Airways’ strategy of transitioning to a single-type fleet while expanding services across underserved Tier 2 and Tier 3 city pairs across the United States.

Willis Lease Finance Completes Dash 8-400 Sale-Leaseback with Porter Airlines

Willis Lease Finance Corporation finalised the purchase and leaseback of six De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft with Porter Airlines. The aircraft are operated by Porter from its Toronto hub and form part of the airline’s turboprop fleet expansion strategy. The transaction also aligns with Willis Lease Finance’s broader investment focus on turboprop aircraft and associated engine assets.

Acumen’s Take

On Regional Fleet Investments

Deliveries of ATR 72-600 aircraft to regional operators highlight the continued importance of turboprops in short-haul markets where frequency, efficiency and lower operating costs are critical.

On TrueNoord’s Portfolio Expansion

The addition of Airbus A220 aircraft signals a strategic evolution for regional-focused lessors. As airlines increasingly deploy right-sized narrowbody aircraft on thinner routes, demand for the A220 platform continues to grow.

On Turboprop Sale-Leaseback Activity

Sale-leaseback transactions involving turboprop fleets illustrate the continued attractiveness of these aircraft for lessors seeking stable, long-term lease placements in regional aviation markets.
