BOC Aviation Reports 51 Deliveries in 2025

BOC Aviation announced its operational transactions for the year ended 31 December 2025. CEO Steven Townend stated that the company delivered 51 new aircraft in 2025, added 160 purchase commitments to its orderbook, and sold 35 owned aircraft during the year. BOC Aviation achieved a 100% aircraft utilisation rate and reinforced its position as one of the top five global aircraft lessors. Townend said the strong portfolio and active management strategy position the company well for future growth.

 

Cathay Kicks Off ‘80 Years Together’ Anniversary Celebrations

Cathay has officially launched its 80th anniversary celebrations under the theme “80 Years Together,” marking eight decades of operations since 1946. CEO Ronald Lam said the celebrations honour Cathay’s legacy of connecting people and supporting Hong Kong, from Kai Tak to Chek Lap Kok. The airline plans a series of initiatives throughout 2026, supported by significant investments in fleet, cabin products, lounges, and digital innovation, aimed at strengthening Cathay’s customer experience and reinforcing Hong Kong’s status as a leading international aviation hub.

 

China Southern Launches Beijing Daxing–Helsinki Route

China Southern Airlines announced a new nonstop service between Beijing Daxing International Airport and Helsinki-Vantaa, its first route to Finland and the Nordic region. Operations will begin on 29 March 2026 with three weekly Boeing 787-9 flights, increasing to daily service from 20 June. The route restores direct connectivity between Beijing and Helsinki after a five-year hiatus, providing seamless access to Northern Europe and onward connections across China and Asia.
