China Eastern Updates Middle East Winter Schedule
China Eastern has extended the suspension of its Shanghai Pudong-Abu Dhabi service, with schedule filings removed between 01 September 2026 and 24 October 2026. The airline’s wider Middle East updates include planned Shanghai Pudong-Muscat services from November 2026 at the earliest, continued cancellation of Kunming-Dubai services and closed reservations on Shanghai Pudong-Dubai for the winter period.
HAECO And CALC Sign MoU For Hong Kong Engine Quick-Turn Platform
HAECO and China Aircraft Leasing Group have signed an MoU to explore the development of an engine lifecycle support platform in Hong Kong. The proposed platform will initially focus on engine quick-turn services, hospital repair and engine asset management, combining HAECO’s MRO capabilities with CALC’s leasing and aviation asset platform.
CAAC Meets Brazil’s Minister Of Ports And Airports
CAAC Administrator Song Zhiyong met Brazil’s Minister of Ports and Airports, Tomé Franca, in Beijing on 25 August. The two sides discussed aviation connectivity between China and Brazil, alongside cooperation in pilot training, new civil aviation technologies, and airport construction and operations.
Cathay Group Reports July 2026 Traffic Growth
The Cathay Group reported continued passenger and cargo growth in July 2026, with Cathay Pacific and HK Express carrying around 3.5 million passengers, up 9% year-on-year. Cathay Cargo carried around 149,000 tonnes, up 6% year-on-year, supported by demand from Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia, including semiconductor and lithium battery shipments.
