Azul Embraer 195 Arrives at Ireland West Airport
PR-AYW Embraer ERJ-195LR (ERJ-190-200LR) c/n 19000458 operated by Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras arrived at Ireland West Airport on 28 February 2026 following a routing from Espargos via Porto, touching down at 14:32 local time as flight AZU9843. The aircraft, named “#MulheresDaAzul,” first flew in July 2011 as an Embraer ERJ-195AR before being delivered to Azul in September 2011 and later modified to ERJ-195LR configuration in 2018. According to Planespotters.net, the aircraft was withdrawn from service in November 2025 and is currently stored at Knock. Azul operates a fleet of 24 ERJ-195LR aircraft configured with 118 seats and an average fleet age of around 13.7 years.
CityJet Phases Out EI-FPX CRJ900
CityJet has begun phasing out another aircraft from its CRJ900 fleet as EI-FPX (msn 15436), named “Vale Viking,” was ferried from Copenhagen to Dayton International Airport, Ohio between 4–5 March 2026. The aircraft routed via Keflavik, Goose Bay and Toronto before arriving in the United States, where it is expected to join PSA Airlines as N644NN. PSA Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines Group operating under the American Eagle brand, continues to expand its CRJ-900 fleet with aircraft sourced from CityJet. EI-FPX will join several sister aircraft already transferred or in the process of joining PSA, reflecting the ongoing transition of former CityJet CRJ900s into regional operations within the American Eagle network.
Lufthansa A380 Painted at Shannon Airport
Lufthansa Airbus A380-841 D-AIMH (c/n 080), formerly named “New York,” arrived at Shannon Airport on 21 January 2026 at 11:04 local time operating as DLH9900 to undergo a special repaint by International Aerospace Coatings (IAC). During its stay, the aircraft received commemorative markings featuring the lettering “1926 | 2026” and “100,” marking Lufthansa’s centenary celebrations, with the work carried out using an XXL crane to apply the large-scale design. The aircraft departed Shannon on 26 February as DLH9901 bound for Munich, becoming the fourth Airbus A380 to carry this distinctive anniversary livery. Shannon Airport Director Niall Kearns noted that while the A380 is rarely seen in Ireland, the airport’s long runway allows it to accommodate such large aircraft with ease, adding that its presence always generates excitement among aviation enthusiasts and the public alike.

The aircraft joins the Pakistani carrier’s narrowbody fleet as the airline continues to strengthen its capacity on domestic and regional routes. The Airbus A320-232 remains a key single-aisle platform across short-haul networks, offering operational efficiency and flexibility for airlines operating in competitive regional markets.

CN-RHN Boeing 737-8 (c/n 43315) was delivered to Royal Air Maroc in Casablanca on 20 February 2026 following its transition from previous registration A7-BSF. The aircraft joins the airline’s growing narrowbody fleet as part of its ongoing fleet modernisation and network expansion strategy. The Boeing 737-8 offers improved fuel efficiency and range compared with earlier 737 variants, supporting Royal Air Maroc’s operations across domestic, regional and medium-haul routes.

Under the agreement, Air Canada customers can book travel on nine Pegasus-operated routes via major European gateways to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport and, from Frankfurt, to Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport. The partnership strengthens connectivity to both Istanbul and the Aegean hub of Izmir, supporting growing leisure and business travel demand between North America, Europe and Türkiye.
Air France-KLM Q4 2025 Earnings Summary
Air France-KLM reported its strongest financial performance to date in 2025, posting operating income of €2.0 billion, up €400 million year-on-year, with an operating margin of 6.1%. Air India outlines new aircraft deployment on UK routes
Air India has announced plans to deploy aircraft featuring newly upgraded or retrofitted cabin interiors across its UK routes from summer 2026 as part of its ongoing fleet modernisation programme. From 1 July, the Mumbai–Heathrow route will be served by a mix of new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and retrofitted Boeing 787-8 aircraft, replacing Boeing 777-300ER operations. From 1 August, Bengaluru–Heathrow services will also transition to upgraded Boeing 787-8 aircraft, introducing premium economy cabins on the route. Meanwhile, flights to Birmingham from Amritsar and Delhi, as well as services to London Gatwick from Ahmedabad and Amritsar, will be operated by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, adding first class capacity and further strengthening connectivity between India and the United Kingdom.
Air Astana finalises order for 25 Airbus A320neo Family aircraft
Air Astana Group has finalised a firm order for 25 Airbus A320neo Family aircraft, marking the largest direct aircraft order in the airline group’s history. The agreement includes five A320neo and 20 A321neo aircraft and coincides with the 20th anniversary of Air Astana operating its first Airbus A320 in 2006. The new aircraft will support the airline’s long-term fleet modernisation and network expansion strategy, with the A321neo and A321LR variants offering enhanced range and efficiency for both regional and longer narrowbody routes across Central Asia, Europe and beyond.
Brussels Airlines upgrades onboard experience, with major boost to Premium Economy

Challenge Group has taken delivery of its first Boeing 777-300ERSF “Big Twin” converted freighter, leased from AerCap, becoming the third operator to introduce the new freighter type into service. The 2007-built aircraft (c/n 32795), previously operated by Emirates, arrived in Malta from Tel Aviv in Challenge Group colours and is expected to enter commercial operations in March. The addition of the 777-300ERSF strengthens the group’s widebody cargo capabilities, offering significant payload capacity and efficiency for long-haul freight operations.
Delta continues fleet renewal with additional A321neo order
Delta Air Lines has exercised options for 34 additional Airbus A321neo aircraft as part of its ongoing fleet modernisation strategy. The order reinforces the A321neo’s role as a core platform within Delta’s next-generation narrowbody fleet, supporting improved fuel efficiency and enhanced passenger experience. Deliveries of the additional aircraft are scheduled to begin in 2029, as the airline continues investing in more efficient aircraft to strengthen its long-term operating flexibility and sustainability goals.

Aer Lingus on course to be Europe’s second largest transatlantic carrier
Aer Lingus is on track to become Europe’s second largest transatlantic carrier by number of destinations served, according to Chief Executive Lynne Embleton, following strong financial results for 2025. The airline reported a 38% increase in operating profit to €282 million, supported by continued growth across its North American network. New routes to Pittsburgh and Raleigh-Durham, alongside increased frequencies to New York and Boston, are strengthening Aer Lingus’s transatlantic presence. However, the airline has warned that further expansion could be constrained if legislation to remove the passenger cap at Dublin Airport is not implemented before October.
