Aer Lingus Sells Airbus A320-200

Aer Lingus said in its 2025 Annual Report that it completed the sale of an Airbus A320-200 aircraft during the year. The aircraft had previously been classified as “held for sale” in the airline’s 2024 Annual Report, indicating its intention to dispose of the asset. Aer Lingus operates 27 Airbus A320-200 aircraft configured with 174 seats across its European and UK short-haul network.

 

Dublin Aerospace expands MRO Capabilities

Dublin Aerospace has secured EASA approval to provide maintenance services for the Airbus A320neo family at its base maintenance facility at Dublin Airport. The approval covers both engine variants currently in service on the type, the CFM LEAP-1A and IAE PW1100G. Dublin Aerospace also completed its first ATR72-600 landing gear overhaul for Emerald Airlines at its Ashbourne landing gear centre.

 

TUI Selects FLY4 Airlines for Summer 2026 ACMI Operations

Dublin-based FLY4 Airlines has officially commenced its Summer 2026 ACMI flying programme with TUI. The launch marks the airline’s third summer season since receiving its AOC in March 2024. It follows FLY4’s successful first winter deployment in India, where it operated on behalf of SpiceJet.

The new entity will support the airline’s fleet expansion and long-term growth plans by providing greater flexibility, cost efficiency and access to global capital markets. Aligned with India’s push to develop GIFT City as an aircraft leasing and financing hub, the entity is expected to finance a majority of Akasa Air’s aircraft over time.

 

Republic Airways’ Matt Koscal Appointed President and Chief Executive Officer

Republic Airways Holdings has appointed Matthew J. Koscal as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective 15 June 2026. Koscal, who joined the airline in 2014 and most recently served as President and Chief Commercial Officer, will succeed David Grizzle, who will return to the role of non-executive Chair of the Board. The leadership transition follows Republic Airways’ merger with Mesa Air Group in November 2025.

Rolls-Royce and easyJet have completed ground testing of a modified Pearl 15 engine running on 100% hydrogen at full takeoff power. The test, conducted at NASA’s Stennis Space Center in Mississippi, covered a simulated flight cycle including start-up, takeoff, cruise and landing. SAS: Lack of sustainable fuel could push aviation into new energy crisis

SAS has warned that Europe could face a structural shortage of e-SAF as demand rises under the EU’s ReFuelEU Aviation regulation. SCAT Airlines has expanded its Boeing 737 MAX 9 commitment to ten aircraft, placing a firm order for five additional jets and converting five previously ordered MAX 8s to the larger MAX 9 variant. Scoot Bolsters Fleet With 11 Airbus A320neo Family Aircraft

Scoot has firmed up orders for five Airbus A320neo family aircraft and exercised options to purchase six additional aircraft from its 2014 Airbus order. The Singapore Airlines low-cost subsidiary said the additional aircraft will support its long-term growth strategy and help meet rising air travel demand. Dublin-based ACIA Aero Leasing has closed a sale and leaseback transaction with Braathens Regional Airlines for two ATR72-600 passenger aircraft. The aircraft, MSNs 1348 and 1357, operate regional routes in Sweden and Northern Europe on behalf of SAS. The deal brings ACIA’s leased fleet with Braathens to three aircraft and increases its total ATR fleet to 38 aircraft.

Aer Lingus July – Oct 2026 US Service Changes

Aer Lingus has adjusted selected US services from July 2026, including frequency reductions on Dublin-Boston and Shannon-Boston. Dublin-Boston will reduce from 18 to 14 weekly services from 15 July, with a further adjustment from 21 to 14 weekly from 17 August, while Shannon-Boston will reduce from 10 to 7 weekly between 14 July and 14 August.
