Air Nostrum Acquires Two Former CityJet CRJ1000s
Air Nostrum has added two former CityJet Mitsubishi CRJ1000 aircraft to its fleet as the Spanish regional carrier continues to evaluate its future fleet strategy. The aircraft are EI-HIA, MSN 19006, now registered EC-OTF, and EI-HID, MSN 19024, now registered EC-OTG. Both aircraft previously operated for Scandinavian Airlines under CityJet’s wet-lease agreement.
Emerald Airlines UK Transfers ATR72-600 to Emerald Airlines Ireland
Belfast City-based Emerald Airlines UK has transferred ATR72-212A(600) G-CMJN, msn 1339, named “St Caillín”, to sister company Emerald Airlines Ireland as EI-GZY. According to Flightradar24, the aircraft operated its last commercial service on 7 June as EIN3648/9 on the Birmingham sector. The following day, it positioned to Dublin as EAG71P.
Hainan Boosts Dublin-Beijing to Daily Service
Hainan Airlines will operate its Dublin-Beijing Capital International Airport service daily from 22 June. Dublin Airport announced the update on its company LinkedIn page, noting that the year-round route will offer daily flights this summer and strengthen long-haul connectivity between Ireland and China. The carrier operates 292-seat, two-class Airbus A330-300 and Boeing 787-9 aircraft on the route.

Lufthansa Technik Boeing 737-8 D-AVOL, c/n 44017, was ferried from Shannon to Budapest on 17 June 2026. The aircraft was in Air Algerie colours. The update records the aircraft’s ferry movement from Shannon to Budapest.
EC-OTF CRJ1000 Enters Service With Air Nostrum
Air Nostrum CRJ1000 EC-OTF, c/n 19006, entered service on 16 June 2026. The aircraft was previously registered EI-HIA. The update records the aircraft’s entry into service and latest registration change.

Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury said the airframer will need to assimilate its planned growth in the coming years as production ramp-up challenges continue. Airbus has been pursuing an ambitious target of manufacturing 75 A320neo family aircraft per month. Faury said the target has proved challenging as the company works through the complexity of increasing production.
AirHelp App Reaches One Million Users
AirHelp’s independent flight tracking app has reached one million users in 12 months, reflecting a shift in how travellers manage disruption. The company said passengers are increasingly using independent data to track flights, monitor disruption and protect their schedules. Over the past year, app users conducted more than five million searches for flight numbers, airlines and airports.
Airlines for America Appoints Marco Sylvester as Senior Vice President, International Affairs
Airlines for America has appointed Marco Sylvester as Senior Vice President of International Affairs. In the role, Sylvester will lead the organisation’s international policy strategy and engagement. He will work with global stakeholders to advance the priorities of US airlines and support a safe, competitive and sustainable international aviation system.
Air Serbia Adds Airbus A320 to Fleet
Air Serbia has added another Airbus A320 to its fleet, with aircraft YU-APV landing at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport. The aircraft was manufactured in 2008 and is configured to carry 180 passengers. Air Serbia said the aircraft will enhance operational capacity and support the continued development of its network.
AirAsia X Focuses on Growth Strategy and Capacity Restoration
AirAsia X, part of AirAsia Group, said resilient travel demand across key markets continues to support its growth strategy. The group is focusing on operational performance, network efficiency, fleet modernisation and targeted expansion to capture growing ASEAN travel demand. It is also working with stakeholders across aviation and tourism as it targets full capacity restoration by August.
Air Vanuatu Appoints Philippe Busson as Chief Executive Officer
Air Vanuatu has appointed Philippe “Phil” Busson as Chief Executive Officer of the national carrier. Busson succeeds Joseph Laloyer, whose service to the airline was recognised by the Board of Directors. The appointment was announced by Air Vanuatu (Operations) Ltd on 18 June 2026.
Asiana Airlines to Exit Star Alliance
Asiana Airlines will formally leave Star Alliance on 16 December 2026 at 23:59 Korea Standard Time. The Seoul-based carrier joined Star Alliance in 2003 and has contributed to customer connectivity across the network. Star Alliance thanked Asiana Airlines and its employees for their role in the alliance over more than two decades.
BeauTech Expands Revolving Credit Facility to USD 1.4 Billion
BeauTech Power Systems has amended and extended its revolving credit facility, increasing total commitments from USD 0.63 billion to USD 1.40 billion. The facility’s maturity has also been extended to June 2031. BeauTech provides aircraft engine leasing, asset management and trading solutions.
Boeing 737 Production Line to Start Operations in July
Boeing’s new 737 production line is expected to start operations in July, according to CEO Kelly Ortberg. The three current 737 production lines in Renton are moving from 42 aircraft per month to 47 aircraft per month this summer. Boeing said teams are using the company’s Safety & Quality Plan to guide activation of the North Line, which will support further rate increases beyond Rate 47.
Emirates Launches Summer Offers for Dubai Travellers
Emirates has launched summer holiday offers for passengers travelling to or through Dubai. The offers include complimentary stays at the JW Marriott Marquis and discounts through My Emirates Pass. The airline said the campaign is designed to provide added value for travellers visiting Dubai for a longer stay or short stopover.
Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines Launch Joint Business Partnership
Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines have launched their strategic joint business partnership following regulatory approvals. The partnership was formalised in January 2026 and begins with the introduction of joint fare products for travel between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. The collaboration strengthens commercial cooperation between the two carriers on the route.

Belfast Airports Report Passenger Growth in April
The two Belfast airports handled a combined 783,567 passengers in April, up 4.4 percent on 2025 and 9.2 percent above pre-pandemic levels. Belfast International Airport handled 568,632 passengers, up 2.9 percent year-on-year, while Belfast City Airport handled 214,935 passengers, up 8.6 percent. The rolling annual total across both airports stood at 9,122,319 passengers.

daa has welcomed Government approval for the publication of the Dublin Airport Passenger Capacity Bill 2026. Deputy CEO Nick Cole said addressing the passenger cap is hugely important for Ireland and welcomed action being taken by Minister Darragh O’Brien. The legislation follows the Programme for Government commitment to deal with the passenger cap issue as a matter of urgency.
IATA Says EU261 Reform Misses the Mark
IATA has expressed frustration that revisions to EU261 stopped short of meaningful reform. Director General Willie Walsh said the changes represent a missed opportunity, with little to improve the passenger experience or strengthen European competitiveness. IATA said the regulation’s deeper flaws remain unresolved.
SMBC Aviation Capital and Trinity College Dublin Publish SAF Deployment Report
SMBC, SMBC Aviation Capital and Trinity College Dublin have published a new report titled “Catalysing Sustainable Aviation Fuel Deployment.” The report outlines key barriers and actions required to scale sustainable aviation fuel production and support aviation decarbonisation.
