ASL Aviation Holdings Boosts ASL Airlines Australia Fleet
Dublin-based ASL Aviation Holdings will add four Boeing 737-800BCF aircraft to the ASL Airlines Australia fleet, expanding its operational capability across Australia and New Zealand. Some aircraft will transfer from ASL’s existing European fleet to the Australian AOC, with the first expected to arrive in Australia soon. The additional freighters will strengthen ASL’s existing network and provide further capacity for regional growth.
EirTrade Aviation Announces Acquisition of A330 Airframe
EirTrade Aviation has acquired an Airbus A330 airframe previously operated by Air Transat. The aircraft will be inducted for immediate disassembly at the company’s facility at Ireland West Airport Knock. EirTrade recently also secured new authorisations from Guernsey, the Cayman Islands and Bermuda for operations, transitions, parking and storage at the Knock facility.
Air Transat Operates One-Time Toronto–Dublin A321ceo Service
Air Transat operated a one-time Airbus A321ceo on its Toronto–Dublin service on 14 August in place of the scheduled Airbus A321LR. Airbus A321-211 C-GEZJ, MSN 4148, operated TSC230/231, arriving in Dublin at 1:46 PM and departing at 4:06 PM. The eastbound sector routed via Goose Bay, while the westbound sector operated via Keflavik.
United Deploys Boeing 777-300ER on Newark–Dublin to Meet Demand
United Airlines has deployed its four-class, 350-seat Boeing 777-300ER on one of its two daily Newark–Dublin services, replacing the 276-seat Boeing 777-200ER. The substitution adds 74 seats per sector, representing a 27 percent capacity increase. Boeing 777-300ERs N2639U, MSN 62650, and N2332U, MSN 62643, operated the service on 25 July and 15 August respectively.

Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737-8 ET-BCR Delivered to Addis Ababa
Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737-8 ET-BCR, c/n 43576, line no. 9779, was delivered from Boeing Field to Addis Ababa via Dublin between 21 and 23 August. The movement marked the delivery of the new aircraft to the operator.
Aloha Airlines Boeing 737-48E(F) N454KH Delivered via Keflavík
Aloha Airlines Boeing 737-48E(F) N454KH, c/n 28198, line no. 2806, ex 2-RAJZ, was delivered from Shannon to Bangor via Keflavík on 23 August. The movement marked the delivery of the freighter aircraft to the operator.
Fly One Asia Airbus A321-271NX UK-32127 Delivered via Keflavík
Fly One Asia Airbus A321-271NX UK-32127, c/n 12330, ex N742NK, was delivered from Dothan to Keflavík via Bangor between 22 and 23 August under its N-registration.

Korean Air Adds Daily Seoul Incheon–Hiroshima Service
Korean Air has opened reservations for a new daily Seoul Incheon–Hiroshima service from 23 December 2026. The route will be operated with Airbus A321neo aircraft, adding a new connection between South Korea and Japan.
Starlux Increases Taipei–Ontario A350-900 Service to Five Weekly Flights
Starlux Airlines will increase its Taipei Taoyuan–Ontario service to five weekly flights from 1 December 2026, operated by Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Flight JX010 will depart Taipei at 8:30 PM and arrive in Ontario at 3:55 PM, while return flight JX009 will leave Ontario at 9:45 PM and arrive in Taipei at 4:30 AM two days later.
AerFin Expands Boeing 777 Component Inventory at Miami Hub
AerFin is expanding its Boeing 777 component inventory at its Miami hub to support operators across North and Latin America. The facility provides direct access to 777 material, helping reduce lead times and support operational continuity. Since 2021, AerFin has acquired 179 whole assets, including 64 airframes and 115 engines, with targeted acquisitions of 777-300ER assets to meet growing demand for widebody material.
Chapman Freeborn Greater China Appointed GSSA for Magma Aviation
Chapman Freeborn Greater China has been appointed as Magma Aviation’s General Sales and Service Agent across Greater China. The appointment builds on existing cooperation supporting Magma Aviation’s scheduled Boeing 747-400F services in China and its cargo activities in Europe. The expanded partnership combines Magma Aviation’s long-term and ad hoc air cargo charter capabilities with Chapman Freeborn’s local market expertise and regional commercial presence.
Barnes Aerospace Acquires Jet AirWerks for Aeroengine MRO
Barnes Aerospace has completed the acquisition of Jet AirWerks, a Kansas-based provider of inspection, repair, overhaul and disassembly services for commercial aeroengine components. The transaction expands Barnes Aerospace’s component repair and overhaul business and strengthens its full life-cycle aftermarket offering. It also adds repair capacity and technical expertise to support commercial aerospace customers.
BOC Aviation Posts First-Half Net Profit of US$357 Million
BOC Aviation reported net profit after tax of US$357 million for the first half of 2026, up 4 percent year on year. Total revenues and other income reached US$1.3 billion, also 4 percent higher than the first half of 2025. During the period, total assets increased 6 percent to US$27.8 billion following US$2.3 billion of capital investment, while total equity rose to US$7.0 billion.
AirAsia Withdraws from Sydney as Cost Pressures Mount
AirAsia X will suspend its four-times-weekly Kuala Lumpur–Sydney service from 25 October, ending the group’s only route from Sydney. The wider group is redirecting capacity towards stronger-performing services from Perth and Melbourne as part of its network adjustments.
BAT Secures Approval to Service South Korean-Registered Aircraft
Batam Aero Technic has received maintenance facility approval from South Korea’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. The approval follows a comprehensive audit and authorises BAT to provide maintenance services for aircraft registered under South Korean MOLIT regulations. The certification supports BAT’s continued international expansion and strengthens its position as an MRO provider in Southeast Asia and other markets.
Delta and Aeromexico Win Appeal Against DOT Joint Venture Decision
Delta Air Lines and Aeromexico have secured a legal victory after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit overturned a Department of Transportation order that would have terminated their joint venture. The ruling reverses the DOT’s September 2025 decision to withdraw approval of the partnership, which allows the airlines to coordinate schedules, pricing, capacity and revenue sharing on U.S.–Mexico routes. The joint venture was originally approved in 2016.

Shannon Aviation Museum Opens Eddie Ryan Wing
Shannon Aviation Museum opened its new Eddie Ryan Wing on 21 August 2026 in tribute to the museum’s late co-founder. The expansion adds Irish Air Corps aircraft including Fouga Magisters, a Percival Provost, de Havilland Chipmunk and Vampire, alongside related artefacts. Funding from Ei Electronics has secured the museum’s land and buildings for the long term, while the facility continues to offer interactive experiences including a Boeing 737 simulator.
Leeds Bradford Competition Intensifies Ahead of easyJet Withdrawal
Competition at Leeds Bradford is increasing ahead of easyJet’s planned exit, with Ryanair introducing rescue fares on the Malaga route for affected passengers. easyJet will operate its final flight from the airport on 4 January, ending services to destinations including Paris, Barcelona, Palma, Malaga and Belfast. Jet2 has also responded with promotional offers while expanding its programme to 65 destinations and adding six new routes.
Glasgow Airport Set for Major Expansion as Passenger Numbers Rebound
Glasgow Airport has announced a major expansion plan as passenger numbers return to pre-pandemic levels. The programme will include terminal upgrades, improved passenger facilities and new retail and dining options, with construction expected to begin in early 2027. The airport has also reported growth across domestic and international routes, including new European and North American services.
TG4 Documentary Series to Explore Ireland’s Transport and Aviation History
TG4 will screen Éire & Taisteal, a seven-part documentary series examining the evolution of transport in Ireland. The series covers roads, waterways, railways, motor cars and aviation, using archive footage, expert contributors and historic locations. Ireland’s aviation development will feature through the establishment of Aer Lingus in 1936 and the subsequent growth of Ryanair.
Aer Lingus Charitable Foundation Opens Iolar to Visitors at Weston
The Aer Lingus Charitable Foundation has opened the historic de Havilland DH.84 Dragon EI-ABI, Iolar, to visitors at Weston Airport. The aircraft recently returned to flight as part of Aer Lingus’ 90th anniversary celebrations, recreating the airline’s inaugural 1936 Dublin–Bristol service. Iolar is one of the last surviving examples of its type and has undergone an extensive restoration programme supported by Aer Lingus volunteers and specialists.
Norway ATC Disruption Affects Dublin–Oslo Services
Air traffic control industrial action in Norway has led to flight cancellations and delays since 21 August. Sunday’s SAS Dublin–Oslo rotation, including SK4604 and inbound SK4603, was among around 150 cancelled flights, while Oslo Airport closed for five hours that morning. Bergen and Stavanger have also experienced disruption, with further action planned for 25 August if no agreement is reached.
easyJet Expands UK Bank Holiday Capacity and Destination Choice
easyJet is operating more than 800,000 seats from the UK over the August Bank Holiday weekend, 6 per cent more than last year. The airline is also offering 56 additional destinations, including new routes to Preveza, Reus and Ljubljana. The expanded schedule increases short-break options from UK regional airports, with many European destinations reachable in under three hours.

Aer Lingus flew Katie Taylor back to Dublin on flight EI130 from Bradley, Connecticut, ahead of her sold-out Croke Park fight on 5 September. The Aer Lingus crew welcomed Taylor on board and supported her journey back to Ireland ahead of the event.
Abercrombie & Kent Unveils Seven-Continent Private Jet Journey
Abercrombie & Kent has announced a 28-day private jet journey running from 3 to 30 January 2028, marking the first itinerary in its Private Jet programme to visit all seven continents. Limited to 50 guests, the trip will operate aboard a reconfigured Boeing 757 with lie-flat seating and will travel from Miami to Madrid via destinations including Antarctica, Easter Island, Auckland, Uluru, Hanoi, Luang Prabang, the Maldives and Egypt.
