Aer Lingus UK Airbus A330 Returns to Dublin, Enters Service

Aer Lingus UK has formally ended operations from its Manchester base as of 31 March, concluding the carrier’s Manchester-based long-haul operation. Airbus A330-302 G-EILA returned to Dublin and has been restored to its original Irish registration, EI-ELA. The move supports Aer Lingus’ wider consolidation of A330 capacity into its Dublin hub, strengthening its transatlantic operation and improving long-haul fleet deployment.

 

Edelweiss First Airbus A320neo Visits Dublin

Edelweiss’s first Airbus A320neo, HB-JDB msn 09379, named “Hoch-ybrig”, visited Dublin following delivery to Zurich on 3 April. The aircraft arrived from Norwich, where it had been painted in Edelweiss livery, and is configured with 180 seats. Originally delivered to Swiss in July 2020, the aircraft now forms part of Edelweiss’ narrowbody fleet renewal. Edelweiss plans to add six Airbus A320neo aircraft by 2028, supporting improved operating efficiency across its short and medium-haul network.

 

ITA Airways Re-registers Irish A220S

ITA Airways has transferred three Airbus A220-100 aircraft from the Irish to the Italian aircraft register, with the changes completed during April. EI-MVC msn 50076, named “Andrea Bargnani”, now operates as I-BDVC, while EI-MVD msn 50080, named “Dario Hubner”, has become I-ADVE. EI-MVE msn 50082, named “Stefania Belmondo”, is now registered as I-ADVF. The re-registrations reflect ITA Airways’ continued alignment of fleet assets under its domestic registry, supporting operational consistency across its A220 fleet.

ITA Airways Airbus A321-271NXLR EI-HXH, c/n 12949, was delivered from Hamburg-Finkenwerder to Rome Fiumicino on 12 May 2026. The aircraft adds new-generation long-range narrowbody capability to ITA Airways’ fleet, supporting improved fuel efficiency, lower operating costs, and greater flexibility on medium and longer-range routes where widebody capacity may not be required. 

 

OE-LAK Airbus A330-243 c/n 975 Avolon Leasing Registered At Teruel 28/04/26 ex PR-AIN

Avolon Leasing Airbus A330-243 OE-LAK, c/n 975, was registered at Teruel on 28 April 2026, formerly operating as PR-AIN. The registration activity reflects continued widebody asset management and transition work, with Teruel serving as an important location for aircraft storage, maintenance preparation and future remarketing. Cathay Group reported strong passenger and cargo performance in April 2026, despite continued cost pressure from elevated jet fuel prices linked to Middle East tensions. Cathay Pacific carried 17 per cent more passengers year-on-year, while HK Express transported nearly 730,000 passengers, up 5 per cent, supported by Easter travel, events traffic and pre-Golden Week demand.

 

Emirates Taps GE Aerospace To Advance Engine Piece Part Repair Capabilities

Emirates has signed an agreement with GE Aerospace for technical and training consultancy to develop piece-part component repair capabilities for GE90 and GP7200 engines. The agreement supports the capability roadmap of the Emirates Engine Maintenance Centre and strengthens the airline’s in-house engine maintenance expertise. The move is strategically relevant as airlines seek greater control over maintenance costs, turnaround times and engine availability amid continuing pressure across the global engine MRO supply chain.

 

Etihad Doubles Airbus A380 Flights To Paris In Major Summer Expansion

Etihad Airways will double its Airbus A380 service to Paris Charles de Gaulle from 1 July to 24 October 2026, operating two daily A380 flights from Zayed International Airport alongside a third daily Boeing 787-9 service. The expansion significantly increases premium-seat capacity on one of Etihad’s strongest European routes and reflects robust summer demand for long-haul travel. The move also highlights how major Gulf carriers are deploying high-capacity aircraft on key trunk routes to strengthen network connectivity, premium revenue and hub competitiveness.

 

Eurowings Expands Berlin Operations With New Aircraft And Routes

Eurowings is expanding its Berlin Brandenburg Airport base to eleven aircraft and more than 300 crew members for the upcoming winter season. The expansion includes two additional aircraft, new routes such as Bologna, and increased leisure frequencies to the Canary Islands, with the carrier aiming to become the largest airline at BER. 

 

Global Jet Fuel Prices Fall For Second Consecutive Week

Global average jet fuel prices fell by 0.2 percent week-on-week to US$162.55 per barrel for the week ending 15 May, marking the second consecutive weekly decline. The easing follows prices falling to US$162.89 per barrel the previous week, the lowest level since the Iran war began on 28 February.

Infinity Aviation has acquired Corporate Air FBO at Vero Beach Regional Airport, adding a key South Florida location to its growing private aviation network. The facility includes eight hangars totalling more than 106,500 square feet, with capacity for aircraft up to Global jet size, 24/7 security, climate-controlled hangars and direct access to a 350,000 square foot ramp area and ground support services.

 

JetBlue And United Unlock Reciprocal Loyalty Benefits In Blue Sky Update

JetBlue and United Airlines  have introduced reciprocal loyalty benefits under their Blue Sky collaboration, allowing eligible TrueBlue and MileagePlus members to access priority services and travel benefits across both networks. The update follows the launch of the airlines’ interline agreement, which enables customers to earn and redeem points and book flights through either carrier’s website.
