Budapest Airport expands China Southern Airlines partnership

Budapest Airport announced a new partnership with China Southern Airlines, adding Guangzhou to growing China route Network. Commencing 27 June China Southern Airlines will operate four times weekly using Boeing 787-8 aircraft.

 

Air China signs deal for 100 COMAC C919 aircraft

Air China announced signature of $11 Billion contract with Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), for 100 C919 extended-range aircraft to be delivered between 2024 and 2031, increasing the carrier’s capacity by 7.5%. Air China stated that it had received “considerable price concessions” for its order.

 

China Southern Airlines orders 100 COMAC C919 aircraft

China Southern Airlines announced an order 100 Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) C919 aircraft for delivery between 2024 and 2031. The C919 list price, including the airframe and engine is $99 million per aircraft. The China Southern Airlines order is valued at $9.9 billion.

 

ForwardKeys: Outbound Chinese travel accelerates towards pre-pandemic levels

ForwardKeys travel intelligence specialist revealed that outbound Chinese travel is gradually returning to pre-pandemic levels. In the first quarter of 2024, the number of issued flight tickets have shown a steady increase, currently reaching just 32% under Q1 2019 levels. As of April 3, bookings for the upcoming May holiday are only 13% down when compared to the same period in 2019. Relaxed visa requirements play a significant role in attracting Chinese tourists, with 39.7% of respondents saying they plan to or want to visit a region outside Asia in 2024.
