Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) Appoints Chief Executive Officer

airBaltic and Delta Air Lines start Codeshare Cooperation

airBaltic and Delta Air Lines announced the start of their codeshare partnership. With unprecedented demand for travel across the Atlantic, Delta will add its code to on 20 airBaltic-operated routes to three of the Latvian airline’s bases at Riga, Tallinn, and Vilnius. Delta Executive Vice President and President International Alain Bellemare said “Enhanced partnerships are integral to our long-term strategy to better connect Delta customers around the world. Working closely with airBaltic will further strengthen Delta’s connection to this vibrant European region by offering more customers unrivalled access to destinations across the U.S.”

 

Air Lease Corporation Delivers First Boeing 737-8 to Malaysia Airlines

Air Lease Corporation (ALC) announced the delivery of first of 25 new Boeing 737-8 aircraft to Malaysia Airlines from ALC’s order book with Boeing powered by CFM LEAP 1B-27 engines. Air Lease Corporation Executive Chairman  Steven Udvar-Házy said “We are thrilled to announce ALC’s first of 25 new Boeing 737-8 aircraft delivered to Malaysia Airlines. Our significant deal for 25 new Boeing 737-8 aircraft with MAB is a milestone transaction that demonstrates ALC’s commitment to the national carrier’s long-term fleet modernization and sustainability program. We are honoured to be the first to introduce the 737-8 to the airline.”

Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Joe Hete, current Chairman of the Board as ATSG’s CEO with immediate effect.

 

TAAG Angola Airlines Selects GEnx-1B engines for Boeing-787 fleet

GE Aerospace has announced TAAG Angola Airlines has selected eight GEnx-1B engines and one spare to power their fleet of Boeing 787 aircraft. GE Aerospace Commercial Vice President Kathy MacKenzie said “These agreements demonstrate TAAG Angola Airlines’ continued confidence in GE Aerospace’s engines and services. We are excited to deliver these highly efficient and dependable GEnx engines while continuing to support the airline’s GE90 fleet.”
