Atlas Air Orders Boeing 777 Freighters

Atlas Air announced it has ordered two new Boeing 777-200LRF Freighters for delivery in 2024 to meet ongoing strong customer demand for dedicated large widebody airfreight capacity, particularly for cross border e-Commerce shipping. Atlas Air Worldwide CEO Michael Steen said “We are excited to add these aircraft to our leading world-class fleet.  These come at a time when retirements of older widebody freighters will significantly increase and when the introduction of new widebody freighter capacity will be limited. We have a deep pipeline of prospective customers interested in these 777 Freighters, and we’re confident in our ability to place them under long-term agreements.”

 

Global Crossing Airlines Establishes UrbanX Air

Global Crossing Airlines Group HAS announced the creation of a wholly owned subsidiary ‘UrbanX Air’ to pioneer the integration of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) in South Florida subject to receiving regulatory approval from DOT and FAA with delivery of its first Eve eVTOL planned in 2026. Lucy Morillo, Esq has been appointed President and CEO of UrbanX. GlobalX CEO & Chairman Ed Wegel said “We are delighted to have Lucy at the helm of UrbanX. GOAL closes Frontier Airlines Airbus A320 transaction

GOAL German Operating Aircraft Leasing GmbH & Co. KG (GOAL) announced the sale transactions of two Airbus A320ceo aircraft msn 7389 and 7458 on lease to Frontier Airlines to an institutional investor and the transaction was originated and will be managed by the Kayan Group, a UK and Ireland based lease manager.

 

Surf Air Mobility and Azul Conecta Enter Agreement

Surf Air Mobility and Azul Conecta have agreed collaboration on the commercial deployment of electric Cessna Caravan within Azul’s existing fleet of 27 Cessna Caravan 208 aircraft. This agreement will help make it possible to upgrade Azul’s existing aircraft with fully electric powertrains once Surf Air Mobility’s proprietary technology is developed and certified, is targeted to reduce direct operating costs by as much as 50% and eliminate 100% of direct carbon emissions. Surf Air Mobility Head of Business Development Jamie Strecker, said "We are particularly excited about the impact electric Cessna Caravan could have on Azul’s potential ability to launch new routes and address an even larger audience within Brazil.”
