Air Lease Corporation Announces Delivery of First of Five New Boeing 787-9 Aircraft with China Southern Airlines Air Lease Corporation announced 1 April the delivery of one new Boeing 787-9 aircraft on long-term lease to China Southern Airlines Powered by GEnx-1B76A engines, this aircraft is the first of five Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft scheduled to deliver to China Southern Airlines through 2020 from ALCs order book with Boeing. CDB Aviation Delivers First of Two A330-200s to Wamos Air CDB Leasing announced 25 March the delivery of the first of two Airbus A330-200 aircraft to Wamos Air. The second aircraft is slated for delivery in June 2019. China and Airbus expand their Partnership in Civil Aviation Airbus and China Aviation Supplies Holding Company (CAS) signed a General Terms Agreement (GTA) covering the purchase by Chinese airlines of a total of 300 Airbus aircraft. The GTA was signed in Paris, France by Guillaume Faury, President of Airbus Commercial Aircraft and future Airbus CEO, and Jia Baojun, Chairman of CAS, in the presence of visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping and French President Emmanuel Macron. The GTA comprises of 290 A320 Family aircraft and 10 A350 XWB Family aircraft, reflecting the strong demand in all market segments including domestic, low cost, regional and international long haul from Chinese carriers. China Eastern Airlines Revenue up 13% in 2018 China Eastern Airlines registered revenues of 114.93 billion yuan (US$17.13 billion) in 2018, up 12.99 percent year on year. The net profits attributable to shareholders was 2.71 billion yuan, down 57.35 percent from the previous year, the Shanghai-based airline said in its annual results for 2018 filed to the Shanghai Stock Exchange. The company cited rising oil prices and exchange losses caused by exchange rate fluctuations as causes of the decrease. Hainan Airlines takes delivery of its first 787-9 Dreamliner with "Dream Feather" interiors Hainan Airlines first 787-9 Dreamliner with "Dream Feather" interiors was delivered to the airline's hangars at Haikou Meilan International Airport on 28 March, marking an overall upgrade of the airline's brand visual design. The visually pleasing, light and elegant cabin environment assures passengers of a comfortable and stress-free travel experience and makes flying easier. The airline partnered with renowned UK-based design firm PriestmanGoode to create the "Dream Feather" concept. The British firm completed the project in under two years, upgrading the airline's "look" across the board, including the cabin environment, air-to-ground service supplies and service logos. HNA sells 100% of gategroup gategroup Holding AG announced 29 March that RRJ Capital has agreed to purchase all outstanding shares in gategroup from HNA Group. Upon completion of the transaction, RRJ Capital will become gategroup’s sole shareholder and Temasek will remain invested in gategroup through a mandatory exchangeable bond. The completion of the transaction is expected to occur in April. Sichuan Airlines to Launch Direct Flight Between Chengdu, Rome Sichuan Airlines said it will launch a direct flight connecting Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, and Rome on 25 June operating twice weekly using Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
