Air India Optimizes Dubai network

Air India has announced optimization of routes from Delhi and Mumbai to Dubai with increased frequencies deploying Boeing 787-8 aircraft on three of the five daily flights, as part of the network alignment process between Air India and Air India Express.

 

Akasa Air grows ancillary revenue stream

Akasa Air announced a partnership with Blue Ribbon Bags (BRB), the world’s leader in delayed luggage protection services to offers its customers delayed baggage protection services, for a fixed add on fee per available to all passengers. Akasa Air Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Belson Coutinho said “We recognise that baggage delivery is not just a top-of-mind factor for travellers but is also an extremely important service area for us at Akasa. We are delighted to partner with Blue Ribbon Bags to help our customers travel with greater confidence and peace of mind. The baggage protection service is yet another conscious addition to our growing portfolio of add-on services and is in line with our promise to be the country’s most dependable airline.” 

 

IndiGo partners with Czech Tourism

IndiGo has partners with Czechia, the tourism board of Czech Republic, to promote travel to the country. IndiGo offers connectivity to Prague via Istanbul through two daily flights codeshared with Turkish Airlines. IndiGo Head of Global Sales Vinay Malhotra, said, "We are excited to join hands with Czech Tourism to offer our customers an enhanced travel experience to one of the most beautiful destinations in the world. Czechia has witnessed rising tourist traffic from India after the lifting of travel restrictions mid last year. Summer vacations typically witness a huge traffic from India to Europe and this partnership will generate awareness about the affordable travel options between the Czech Republic and India.

 

UDAN 5.0 Announced by Ministry of Civil Aviation (MOCA)

The Ministry of Civil Aviation 21st April launched the 5th round of the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) – Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) to further enhance the connectivity to remote and regional areas of the country and achieve last mile connectivity. A list of airports that are ready for operation or would soon be ready for operations has been included in the scheme to facilitate quicker operationalization of routes under the scheme, focused on Category-2 (20-80 seats) and Category-3 (>80 seats). The Minister of Civil Aviation & Steel, Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia said, “UDAN has proved to be a lifeblood of many regions which are now well connected with places across the country. This new & stronger version of the scheme will raise the momentum, connecting new routes, and bring us closer to the target of operationalizing 1000 routes & 50 additional airports, heliports, and water aerodromes in the near future.”
