Emirates to rollout Premium Economy on routes to India

Emirates announced it will roll out its Premium Economy on routes from Dubai to Bengaluru and Mumbai on newly reconfigured Airbus A380-800 aircraft commencing 29 October,  bringing the number of routes offering the product to 12 by year end.

 

IndiGo adds new destinations in Africa and Central Asia

IndiGo announced significant international expansion strategy with the addition of six new destinations across Asia, and Africa. The carrier will connect Nairobi, Kenya and Jakarta, Indonesia, with direct flights from Mumbai. The carrier will connect Delhi to Almaty, Kazakhstan and Baku, Azerbaijan , Tbilisi, Georgia & Baku and Tashkent, Uzbekistan. IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers said, "We are absolutely excited to embark further on our ambitious international network expansion plans, in line with our commitment to giving wings to the Indian nation. As we steadfastly execute our strategy ‘Towards New Heights and Across New Frontiers’, we are poised to establish unparalleled connections between people and places. The addition of these exciting new destinations, new direct flight routes, enhanced flight frequencies, and strategic codeshare partnerships, will help us expand our footprint across four continents with Africa and Central Asia being penetrated for the first time. With this expansion in our network, we will now be directly touching 32 international destinations (up from 26), next to our 78 domestic destinations.”

 

Jettwings Airways receives NOC Approval

India start-up carrier Jettwings Airways received No Objection Certificate (NOC) approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), as the carrier based in Guwahati aims to start operations in 2023Q3 focused on UDAN routes using  reported The Economics Times.

 

SpiceJet to boost capacity reviving 25 parked aircraft

SpiceJet announced plan to increase ASK by re-activating 25 parked aircraft. The carrier plans to draw down from the government’s Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) and utilize its cash accruals. SpiceJet Chairman and Managing Director, Ajay Singh said, “We are meticulously working towards return to service of our grounded fleet back in the air soon. Majority of the ECLGS funding received by the airline would be utilized for the same, which will help us capitalise and make the most of the upcoming peak travel season.”
