Air India subsidiary issues tender to refurbish entire aircraft fleet Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India, has issued a tender to refurbish its entire fleet of 18 ATR-72 aircraft. Facial recognition technology for seamless air travel from March The Civil Aviation Ministry’s Digi Yatra project is likely to be rolled out from March 2022, making paperless and smooth air travel a reality in India. According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the first phase of the Digi Yatra project would be implemented in four airports across India, Kolkata, Varanasi, Pune and Vijayawada, from March this year, after which the project will be scaled up and implemented in other airports across the country. The Digi Yatra project works on the facial recognition technology and artificial intelligence. Gurugram to get India’s first heli-hub The Haryana government has proposed to set up the first heli-hub of the country in Gurugram designed to have many aviation facilities like heliport, hangars, repairs, and any other related services. The proposed to be built in Gurugram would be near the metro facility along with easy connectivity to industrial areas like Noida and Bhiwadi. Security centre set up at Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) last week commissioned the state-of-the-art security operation control centre (SOCC) of the aviation security group (ASG) of CISF. Vistara fleet crosses 50 aircraft Vistara, which completed seven years of its operations on January 9, said its fleet has crossed 50 aircraft with over 12 aircraft added in the last 21 months alone despite Covid-19 pandemic challenges. The airline said it has flown 30 million passengers since its launch on January 9, 2015 in both domestic and overseas markets, the airline said in a statement.
