BLR Airport installs Emergency Oxygen Generators for the benefit of passengers Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (BLR Airport) has installed 10 Emergency Oxygen Generators for the benefit of passengers and airport staff, to provide life-saving support during medical emergencies. A BIAL (Bangalore International Airport Ltd) spokesperson said, “Protecting the health and safety of passengers is our top priority. By installing these life-saving instant oxygen generators at BLR Airport, we want to ensure a safe end-to-end journey for all passengers.” IndiGo strengthens regional presence with addition of Deoghar as the 74th domestic destination IndiGo announced the launch of its 74th domestic and 99th overall destination. The airline will commence exclusive flights between Kolkata-Deoghar, effective July 12, 2022. These new connections will enhance the connectivity between eastern states of the country. The flights will enhance connectivity in the region, especially with the Shravani Mela kickstarting next week, which attracts over 2.5 million people every year. Chief Strategy and Revenue Officer, IndiGo Mr. Sanjay Kumar said, “We are pleased to announce Deoghar as the 74th destination on the 6E network. These new flights will enhance connectivity and significantly reduce transit time between Kolkata and Deoghar, from 7.5 hrs to less than 1.25hrs. The increased access to Deoghar - home to Baba Baidyanath Temple, Trikuta Parvata, Rama Krishna Mission Vidyapith and Naulakha Mandir - will also boost religious tourism in the region. We strive to consistently provide our signature on-time, courteous, and hassle-free service at affordable fares, across our unparalleled network.” PM Narendra Modi Inaugurates Deoghar Airport; Providing Direct Connectivity To Baba Baidyanath Dham The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various developmental projects worth more than Rs 16,800 crores in Deoghar. The state is investing in Jharkhand second airport. As a key step to provide direct connectivity to Baba Baidyanath Dham, which is an important religious destination for devotees from all over the country, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Deoghar Airport. It has been constructed at an estimated cost of around Rs. 400 crore. The Terminal Building of the airport is equipped to handle over five million passengers annually. Safran Expands Presence and Industrial Footprint in India Safran is inaugurating three new production sites in India and announces the construction of a major new facility in 2025, bolstering its strategic partnership with the country. Two new neighbouring plants was inaugurated on 7 July in Hyderabad, for Safran Aircraft Engines and Safran Electrical & Power. The second plant was inaugurated on 8 July in Bangalore, for Safran HAL Aircraft Engines, makes complex piping, mostly for the LEAP engine. The third plant spanning 15,000 square meters (162,000 sq ft), will make rotating parts for the LEAP engine from CFM International will be built at the industrial Park of GMR. The largest MRO centre in the network, it will start operations in 2025 and will eventually offer annual capacity of 250 to 300 engine shop visits. Vistara Ramps Up Flights To Thailand Vistara announced the addition of a new route to its international network with direct connectivity between Mumbai and Bangkok, with five weekly flights operated by Airbus A320neo aircraft commencing from 5th August. Vistara CEO Mr. Vinod Kannan said, “Thailand remains one of the most preferred tourist destinations for Indians and we are excited to commence flights between Mumbai and Bangkok, in addition to the existing daily connectivity to the city from Delhi.
