Avolon doubled portfolio size at end of 2017 Avolon more than doubled the size of its owned, managed and committed portfolio at the end of 2017 from 435 to 908 aircraft, mostly due to its integration of CIT’s former aerospace leasing business. In an update on its trading activity, the company states that over the year it delivered 45 new aircraft to clients, and sold 29 owned aircraft and 19 managed aircraft. The year was headlined by the acquisition and integration of the CIT aircraft leasing business, and our order for 75 Boeing 737 Max aircraft.” GECAS to lease Ethiopian Airlines the first two AEI-converted 737-800 Freighters Ethiopian Cargo and Logistics Services, a division of the Ethiopian Airlines Group, has committed to lease the first two Boeing 737-800 freighters (737-800SF) converted by Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI) from GECAS, with the first delivery expected in June of 2018, followed by a second in January of 2019. “We are excited to take delivery of these first-ever AEI-converted 737-800SFs,” explained Tewolde Gebremariam, Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, “The aircraft will be a great complement to our existing fleet of B777 and B757 freighters. In line with our Vision 2025 Ethiopian Cargo and Logistics strategic roadmap, we are expanding our cargo fleet and network to support trade within Africa and with the rest of the world by facilitating the export of perishables and the import of high value goods into the continent.” Goshawk delivers its first Airbus A321 NEO to VietJet Goshawk announced 8 January the delivery of an Airbus A321 NEO aircraft to VietJet. This is the first A321 NEO delivery for both Goshawk and VietJet and is the first to deliver in South East Asia. The delivery is the third in a four-aircraft transaction between Goshawk and VietJet, consisting of two A321-200s which delivered in 2017 and one further A321 NEO, to deliver in 2018. NAC sold one Embraer E195, MSN 19000745, to Arkia Israeli Airlines Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) announced 10 January the sale of one Embraer E195, MSN 19000745, to Arkia Israeli Airlines. TrueNoord closes sale-lease back with Air Astana for Embraer E190 aircraft TrueNoord has concluded the increase of an existing term financing facility with DVB bank for the purchase of a 2012 vintage Embraer E190 aircraft from Air Astana, which will continue to be operated by the airline under the terms of a sale-lease back transaction.
