Apollo Aviation Group Agrees to Be Acquired by the Carlyle Group Apollo Aviation announced 15 October that it has entered into an agreement to be acquired by The Carlyle Group .The transaction is expected to close no later than January 31, 2019, subject to customary conditions, after which Apollo Aviation will become Carlyle Aviation Partners Ltd. Apollo Aviation was advised by Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP and Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC. Atran Airlines to Lease GECAS 737-800 Freighters Atran Airlines and GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) announced 11 October a lease agreement for two 737-800 freighters. The passenger-converted aircraft are scheduled to be phased in during the remainder of 2018 and in the first half of 2019. They will provide additional capacity to Atran’s existing fleet of three Boeing 737-400 freighters and will increase Altran’s fleet to five. CDB Aviation Celebrates Office Relocation to 1GQ in Dublin To further support expansion of the company’s global operations, CDB Aviation has relocated its Dublin headquarters to the new workspace in 1GQ on George's Quay. The new location puts the lessor at the heart of the area’s rapidly growing aircraft leasing center. Our company’s success depends on the effectiveness of our team, and this new office space is designed to provide an engaging work environment for our team members, while inspiring their collaboration, attracting new talent, and supporting our plans for future growth.” Elix Aviation Capital Confirms a Lease Transaction for six ATR 72-600 with Lion Air Group Elix Aviation Capital announced 11 October that it has concluded a transaction with Lion Air Group for six ATR 72-600 aircraft, including five recently delivered ATR 72-600 aircraft and a sixth ATR72-600 aircraft scheduled for delivery in November 2018. Milestone Aviation Announces Greg Conlon as President & CEO Milestone Aviation announced 15 October the appointment of Greg Conlon as President and CEO effective 1 November 2018. He succeeds Daniel Rosenthal, Co-founder, President and CEO Milestone Aviation and GECAS Executive Vice President of Financing and Products, who has decided to pursue external opportunities. Greg will continue to be responsible for GECAS’ Aircraft Trading function and will relocate to Dublin to lead Milestone. Nordic Aviation Capital adds new strong minority shareholder, GIC, to further support growth ambitions NAC, Martin Møller and EQT VI announced 15 October that GIC, a leading long-term global investor with significant aircraft leasing experience, is to become a significant minority investor in Nordic Aviation Capital. The transaction will be executed by an affiliate of GIC. Martin Møller, founder and Chairman of NAC said “It is nearly three years since we partnered with EQT VI to support our growth strategy. Together, we continued our profitable growth and benefitted from the partnership’s global perspective, experience and financial strength. GIC brings further financial strength and commercial capabilities that will allow us to take advantage of expansion opportunities as they arise”. Zephyrus Aviation Capital Announces Closing of ZCAP 2018-1 Zephyrus Aviation Capital announced 11 October that it has closed the Company’s first structured ABS financing, ZCAP 2018-1. Zephyrus Capital Aviation Partners 2018-1 Ltd and Zephyrus Capital Aviation Partners 2018-1 LLC will borrow $336.6 million, which will be used to finance the acquisition of a diversified portfolio of 21 in-production, predominantly narrow-body aircraft on lease to 19 lessees in 14 countries, from Avolon.
