AAR earns JCAB approval to expand services to Japanese airlines AAR has received approval from the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) to serve Japanese airlines that require repair stations to provide JCAB-authorized release certificates. This new certification will expand AAR’s Japanese customer base and further strengthen the company’s position in Asia. AAR Aircraft Component Services (ACS) has this certification now in addition to FAA, EASA and CAAC. Aviation Capital Group Announces Additional $200 Million Investment from Tokyo Century Corporation Aviation Capital Group LLC (ACG) announced 4 March that it has received an additional $200 million investment from its minority shareholder, Tokyo Century Corporation. Tokyo Century has held an investment in ACG since December 2017. With this additional investment, Tokyo Century’s ownership in ACG increases to 24.5%. Pacific Life will retain a controlling interest in ACG. AEI Adds STAECO As Authorized Conversion Center Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI) has selected Taikoo (Shandong) Aircraft Engineering Company Limited, also known as STAECO, as an Authorized Conversion Center. Aero Capital Solutions Raises First Aviation Investment Vehicle Aero Capital Solutions, Inc announced 4 March the successful final closing on its first aviation investment vehicle with total aggregate equity commitments of $200 million. Investors include a broad group of sophisticated investors, registered investment advisers, and single and multi-family offices. In addition to the $200 million of equity, ACS closed on a $400 million debt facility with a multinational investment bank providing a total of approximately $600 million of capital for deployment. Alaska Airlines launches new travel era with commercial flights at Paine Field Alaska Airlines celebrated 4 March a historic, long-awaited moment for Western Washington with the first commercial flights at Paine Field-Snohomish County Airport in Everett. Paine Field is now home to Alaska's newest destination, and the nation's newest commercial air terminal. The first departure headed for Portland, Oregon. All Alaska flights at Paine Field are operated by Horizon Air with the Embraer 175 aircraft. ATSG Announces New President of its LGSTX Services Subsidiary Air Transport Services Group announced 6 March that Jim Pradetto will succeed Gary Stover as President of LGSTX Services, Inc., a subsidiary of ATSG, effective with Stover’s retirement on April 12, 2019. Aviation Capital Group Promotes Tom Baker to Chief Revenue Officer Aviation Capital Group LLC (ACG) announced 6 March that Tom Baker has been promoted to executive vice president and chief revenue officer. In his role as chief revenue officer, Mr. Baker will further integrate ACG’s focus on serving its customers and developing new growth opportunities for the business by driving closer alignment among the Sales/Marketing, Trading and Technical teams. Mesa Air Group Names New Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Mesa Air Group, Inc t named 6 March Brad Rich as its new Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Rich brings over 30 years of airline industry leadership experience to this role, where he will oversee the airline’s operations and performance, and report directly to Mesa Air Group CEO Jonathan Ornstein. Rich will also will be heavily involved with commercial contracts and major airline relationships. Triumph Group Announces the Sale of NAAS Line Maintenance Service Provider Triumph Group, Inc announced 6 MRCG the sale of Triumph Aviation Services – NAAS Division, Inc to STS Aviation Group. The transaction is effective as of 6 March. The division generated revenues of approximately $30 million in Triumph Group’s 2018 fiscal year, ending on March 31, 2018. NAAS provides line maintenance support to airlines, MROs, government operators and OEMs and has a specialization in fuel systems maintenance, leak detection and bladder cell repair.
