AerCap Holdings N.V. Shareholders Approve Acquisition of GE Capital Aviation Services AerCap announced that its shareholders have approved the previously announced acquisition of GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS), a General Electric business, at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders meeting. The transaction remains subject to the receipt of necessary regulatory approvals and to the satisfaction of other customary closing conditions. Air Canada says "Aloha" to Winter 2022 from Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver Air Canada announced it will launch more non-stop options from Canada to Hawaii this winter, including the first Montreal-Honolulu and Toronto-Maui services. These new flights complement the airline's long-standing services from Calgary and Vancouver to the Hawaiian Islands and will enable convenient connections across Canada as well as from Europe. Senior Vice President, Network Planning and Revenue Management Air Canada Mark Galardo said "We are seeing strong demand in the sun markets this winter with people in Canada and around the world looking ahead to holiday travel. As we finalize our schedule to position Air Canada's leadership in leisure travel this winter, we have added new non-stop flights to Hawaii from Montreal and Toronto in addition to our flights from Calgary and Vancouver, making it more convenient than ever for Canadians across the country to experience the Hawaiian Islands. From Europe, customers will be able to easily connect to our Hawaii flights from our Montreal and Toronto gateways.” Alaska Airlines announces plans for fleet growth and route expansion Alaska Airlines announced Orders for 30 additional mainline and regional aircraft for flying after recovery; Belize becomes newest international destination added for leisure travellers. The airline is taking advantage of strategic opportunities by adding 30 mainline and regional aircraft to fulfill capacity needs in the years ahead. And as more traveller’s search for additional leisure getaways, Alaska will begin flying to Belize City, Belize. To prime the airline for growth, Alaska is taking the following actions adding 17 new Embraer 175 jets to the regional fleet in 2022 and 2023 – nine to be operated by Horizon Air and eight by SkyWest and exercising options for 13 Boeing 737-9 MAX deliveries in 2023 and 2024. Delta Air Lines and LATAM receive approval of Joint Venture from Colombia Delta Air Lines, LATAM Airlines Group S.A. and its subsidiary LATAM Airlines Colombia S.A. received approval of their Joint Venture without conditions by the Civil Aviation Authority of Colombia (Aeronáutica Civil de Colombia). The agreement has also been granted the authorization of regulatory entities in Brazil and Uruguay, while the review process continues in other countries, including Chile. GA Telesis Announces Boeing 767 Teardown Consignment Agreement with Major North American Airline GA Telesis announced a Boeing 767 teardown consignment agreement with a major North American airline. The contract was completed through a partnership with GA Telesis’ Component Solutions team for the distribution and resale of parts removed from the 767 aircraft.
