AerSale Agrees to Acquire 24 Boeing 757-200 Passenger Aircraft and Spare Engines Stored at its Roswell, New Mexico Airport Facilities AerSale announced that it has entered into a purchase agreement to acquire 24 Boeing 757-200 passenger aircraft stored at AerSale’s Heavy MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) facility located at the Roswell Air Center in New Mexico. All aircraft are equipped with Rolls-Royce RB211-535 series engines, and 16 spares are included with the purchase. AerSale has targeted Boeing 757 passenger aircraft as feedstock for a burgeoning freight market. Air Lease Corporation Announces Delivery of New Airbus A350-1000 Aircraft to Virgin Atlantic Air Lease Corporation announced the delivery of one new Airbus A350-1000 aircraft on long-term lease to Virgin Atlantic.  Powered by Trent XWB-97 engines, this aircraft is the first of four A350-1000s confirmed to deliver to the airline from ALC’s order book with Airbus. Steven F. Udvar-Házy, Executive Chairman of Air Lease Corporation said “We are pleased to announce this first new A350-1000 aircraft delivery to Virgin Atlantic . Our A350-1000s will replace Virgin Atlantic’s Boeing 747 aircraft on routes from London across the Atlantic to modernize the airline’s long-haul fleet." Boeing Appoints Marc Allen Chief Strategy Officer and names Chris Raymond as Company's First Chief Sustainability Officer The Boeing Company named B. Marc Allen as chief strategy officer and senior vice president, Strategy and Corporate Development, reporting to President and CEO David Calhoun. The company also announced Christopher Raymond as the company's chief sustainability officer, a newly created position reporting to Executive Vice President, Enterprise Operations and Chief Financial Officer Greg Smith. The appointments are effective 1st October. Boeing Wins More 737-800BCF Orders and Launches New Freighter Conversion Lines to Meet Strong Demand Boeing announced a firm order from an unidentified customer for two 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighters (BCF), as well as agreements to open additional conversion lines in Guangzhou, China, and Singapore to meet strong market demand. The new 737-800BCF line at Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Company Limited (GAMECO) is scheduled to open in early 2021. The 737-800BCF now has 134 orders and commitments. Ihssane Mounir, senior vice president of Commercial Sales and Marketing said “The freighter conversion program is an excellent way to double the life of an airplane and provide operators with an economical way to replace less efficient freighters. By working with our partners to add freighter conversion capacity, we look forward to meeting the strong demand in this market segment and helping our customers scale their operations.” GA Telesis Exercises Option for Second AEI Boeing 737-800SF Freighter Aeronautical Engineers Inc announce its customer, GA Telesis, is exercising an option for a second Boeing 737-800SF freighter conversion. This news follows an announcement for the first Boeing 737-800SF awarded in July 2020. The second aircraft (MSN 28826) will commence modification at the end of January 2021 and is scheduled for redelivery in early May 2021. All modification touch labor will be performed by the authorized AEI Conversion Center, Commercial Jet, in Miami, Florida. Spirit Airlines Announces Closing of Private Offering by Loyalty and Brand Subsidiaries Spirit Airlines announced the closing of a private offering of $850 million in principal amount of 8.00% senior secured notes due 2025 offered by two newly-formed Spirit subsidiaries. The notes are guaranteed by Spirit and secured by Spirit’s customer loyalty programs and brand intellectual property. “We’ve spent the past six months confronting the COVID-19 crisis head on and taking major steps to ensure our financial viability. We owe that to our valued Team Members, Guests and investors,” Spirit President and CEO Ted Christie said. “Our low fares and top-class reliability present a great value to consumers as travel demand builds and the economy recovers.
