TrueNoord leases two Embraer 175’s to Air Canada

American Airlines welcomes tentative US DOT approval for new JFK to Tokyo route

American Airlines announced it welcomed tentative approval from the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) to begin nonstop service between New York (JFK) and Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND). American will be the only U.S. carrier operating service between JFK and Tokyo market. American Airlines CEO Robert Isom said “American looks forward to beginning nonstop service to Tokyo’s Haneda Airport from JFK. We are grateful to the DOT and thankful to our partner Japan Airlines for supporting our application. Together, we are well-positioned to offer customers a comprehensive network between two of the most robust economies in the world. This new service will add nearly 200,000 additional round-trip seats annually between the U.S. and Japan, offering customers more ways to conduct business in the global marketplace or connect with family and friends.”

 

Austrian Airlines connects Vienna Hub to Boston

Austrian Airlines announced the launch of a new route connecting its Vienna hub to Boston operating six times weekly from 1st July operated by three class 211 seat Boeing 767-300(ER) aircraft. Austrian Airlines CCO Michael Trestl "We are excited to announce Boston as a new and highly attractive destination. This expansion enhances our long-haul offering and strengthens the Vienna hub. Boston's world-renowned universities, including Harvard and MIT, business connections, and the city's unparalleled charm make it a fascinating and enticing travel destination. Additionally, it will be even easier for visitors and tourists from the New England to come to Vienna in the future."

 

Azul Airlines and Silver Airways announce codeshare agreement

Azul and Silver Airways announced the commencement of a codeshare agreement, which entails the sharing of flights between the two airlines through Silver Airways bases in Fort Lauderdale and Orlando. Azul Director of Alliances, Planning, and Revenue Management André Mercadante, said "The start of the partnership with Silver Airways reflects Azul's mission to provide the best flight experience and expand options for our customers to explore international destinations. Now, with this new agreement, we offer access to an extensive national and international network, reinforcing our synergy and commitment to excellence in service. In this way, our customers can depart from our hubs and, with a single ticket, travel to new amazing cities, modern ones, with wonderful beaches, and full of culture."

 

TrueNoord leases two Embraer 175’s to Air Canada

TrueNoord announced the purchase of two Embraer 175 aircraft to Air Canada. The recent closing of this transaction marks the completion of their acquisition of ten Embraer aircraft from Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC), first announced in January 2023. TrueNoord Sales Director-Americas Garry Topp said “Air Canada is a respected flag carrier and the country’s largest airline, known for its strong operational performance and comprehensive route network. We are very proud to welcome them to the TrueNoord lessee family and look forward to building a strong and long-term relationship with their team.”
