Air Lease Corporation Announces Pricing of Public Offering of $500 Million of 3.875% Unsecured Senior Notes due 2023 Air Lease Corporation announced 11 June the pricing of its public offering of $500 million aggregate principal amount of 3.875% unsecured senior notes due 2023 . The sale of the Notes is expected to close on June 18, 2018, subject to satisfaction of customary closing conditions. Allegiant Announces Robert Wilson As EVP & Chief Information Officer Allegiant has announced that Robert Wilson has been appointed to serve as executive vice president and chief information officer. Wilson officially assumed the role on 1 June and previously served as interim chief information officer since January 2018. Air Italy’s First Milan-Miami Takes-Off From Malpensa The first Air Italy non-stop flight to Miami was inaugurated 8 June completing the new Summer 2018 network of services to North America following last week’s launch of daily service to New York JFK. Flights to Miami are offered four times weekly and are operated by an Airbus 330-200 offering 18 seats in Business and 236 in Economy class. David Neeleman to launch Moxy Airways, a new US-based LCC with 60 CS300s JetBlue and Azul Linhas Aereas founder, David Neeleman, is reportedly looking to raise US$100 million in capital to start Moxy Airways, a new low-cost carrier launching in 2020. The airline, which will operate to point-to-point flights from secondary airports, has already secured 60 Bombardier CS300s. Delta to begin nonstop service from Minneapolis/St. Paul to Seoul-Incheon in cooperation with JV partner Korean Air in 2019 Delta announced increased access to Seoul, Korea and Asia via new Delta service from its Minneapolis/St. Paul hub to Seoul-Incheon beginning next year in partnership with joint venture partner Korean Air. The service will be Delta’s second trans-Pacific nonstop flight from its MSP hub, complementing existing service to Tokyo-Haneda, where Delta also intends to deploy the refurbished 777-200ER aircraft in 2019. Delta to add Seattle-Osaka service in partnership with Korean Air in 2019 Delta is adding nonstop service to Osaka-Kansai Japan, starting in 2019, complementing its existing international network. The route will be operated by a Boeing 767-300ER equipped with 25 fully flat-bed seats in Delta One, 29 seats Delta Comfort+ and 171 seats in the Main Cabin. Every seat has access to Wi-Fi, free personal in-flight seatback entertainment screens and power ports. Hawaiian Airlines receives its first U.S.-produced aircraft Hawaiian Airlines has taken delivery of its first U.S.-produced A321. The aircraft, delivered from the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, Alabama, is also the first new engine option aircraft (NEO) delivered from Airbus’ U.S. facility. It is powered by a Pratt & Whitney PW1000G high-bypass geared turbofan engine. Executives and employees from Airbus and Hawaiian, and executives from Pratt & Whitney and UTC Aerospace Systems witnessed the milestone delivery. Low-Cost Airline Brand LEVEL Announces Plans to Shift Nonstop Barcelona Flights from Oakland to SFO This Fall International Airlines Group’s (IAG) announced plans to shift LEVEL its nonstop Barcelona service from Oakland to SFO this fall, joining existing nonstop service to Madrid on sister airline Iberia. With this move, SFO will be offering more nonstop flights to Spain than any other Bay Area airport. LEVEL parent company International Airlines Group (IAG) plans to begin operating two flights per week from SFO to Barcelona on October 31, 2018, using an Airbus A330-200 aircraft with 288 seats. Spirit Airlines Announces Major International Expansion In an unprecedented expansion, starting October 4, 2018, Spirit will begin offering international service from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to 11 new destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as 3 more domestic routes rolling out through the fall. The announcement marks one of the largest expansions in the airline’s history and includes service to the U.S. territories of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
