Air Lease Corporation Announces Delivery of Airbus A321-200neo Aircraft with S7 Airlines Air Lease Corporation announced that S7 Airlines received its first new Airbus A321-200neo aircraft. This aircraft is the first of four Pratt & Whitney PW1133G-powered A321neos to be delivered in 2018 to S7 from ALC’s order book with Airbus. Air Lease Corporation Announces Delivery of Boeing 787-9 Aircraft with LOT Polish Airlines Air Lease Corporation announced 27 June the delivery of one new Boeing 787-9 aircraft on lease to LOT Polish Airlines. This Boeing aircraft joins three B737-8 MAX aircraft currently on lease to LOT from ALC, with an additional three B737-8 MAX aircraft confirmed to deliver in 2018 and 2019 from ALC’s order book with Boeing. AJW forms strategic partnership with Allegiant Air AJW Group has signed a component repair agreement between the US-based leisure carrier Allegiant Air (Allegiant) and the Group’s Montreal-based MRO facility, AJW Technique. The contract, covering 150-part numbers, is a significant win for the aircraft parts maintenance and repair specialist, which signed the deal during the MRO Americas expo in Orlando, Florida. Allegiant has outlined ambitious growth plans that will see AJW supporting up to 100 aircraft by 2020 for the low cost, Las Vegas-headquartered carrier. The agreement is a fixed price repair contract that utilizes quality focused engineering practices to increase the on-wing life of the components and thus improve dispatch reliability. Air Wisconsin Airlines Announces A New Maintenance Base Facility At Appleton International Airport Supporting Significant Job Growth Air Wisconsin Airlines, operating as United Express on behalf of United Airlines, has announced plans in conjunction with Appleton International Airport and Outagamie County, WI to build a new aircraft maintenance base facility in Appleton. This new facility will be located near the north-west area of the airfield and will have approximately 30,000 square feet of hangar space in addition to 7,000 square feet of office and maintenance support space. Construction of the new state-of-the-art-hangar, which will house up to four regional jets, will commence in early July and will be completed by the end of this year. Atlas Air Worldwide Increases Earnings Outlook Atlas Air Worldwide said that it is increasing its second-quarter and full-year 2018 earnings outlooks reflecting the demand for our aircraft and services, we now anticipate our second-quarter adjusted income from continuing operations, net of taxes, will grow by 40% to 45% compared with first-quarter 2018 adjusted net income of $23.8 million, up from 30% to 35% growth expected previously. Boeing, Bamboo Airways Announce Commitment for 20 787 Dreamliners Boeing and Bamboo Airways announced 25 June a commitment for 20 787-9 Dreamliners in deal that would be worth $5.6B at current list prices, when finalized. The announcement was made during a signing ceremony at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce office, witnessed by Voung Dinh Hue, deputy prime minister of Vietnam, and Nazak Nikakhtar, Assistant Secretary for Industry and Analysis, U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration. As part of the agreement, Bamboo Airways completed the deposit requirement in mid-June to reserve the 20 airplanes, which are tentatively schedule to deliver from April 2020 through 2021. Spirit Airlines Brings New International Routes to George Bush Intercontinental Airport The lush beauty and diverse cultures of Latin America await as Spirit Airlines continues its international expansion, this time from Houston! Beginning September 6, 2018, Spirit will start service from Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) to San Salvador, El Salvador* with year-round service running three times weekly to Monseñor Óscar Arnulfo Romero International Airport (SAL). The next day, on September 7, Spirit will begin nonstop flights between Houston and Guatemala City, Guatemala* with year-round service eventually running four times weekly to La Aurora International Airport (GUA).
