Air India Reinstates Codeshare Agreement with Air Canada
Air India has reinstated its codeshare agreement with Air Canada, effective 2 December 2025, improving connectivity between the two countries. The partnership allows Air India to place its “AI” code on Air Canada flights beyond Vancouver and London Heathrow, while Air Canada customers gain seamless access to key domestic Indian destinations via Delhi and Mumbai.
CEO Campbell Wilson said the renewed partnership will ease travel for the over two million annual India–Canada passengers and strengthen Air India’s Star Alliance offering.
Akasa Air to Begin Operations from Navi Mumbai International Airport
Akasa Air will launch services from Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) starting 25 December 2025, marking a major step in the airline’s expansion. Initial routes include Delhi, Goa, Kochi, and Ahmedabad through the end of December.
CCO Praveen Iyer said NMIA will reinforce Akasa’s presence in western India and support India’s growing dual-airport ecosystem.
IndiGo Expands Connectivity from NMIA
IndiGo has announced new daily services from NMIA to Coimbatore and Chennai, a five-times-weekly connection to Vadodara, and increased North Goa frequencies. The additions begin between 26 and 30 December.
The airline said NMIA will complement CSMIA and support wider regional development.
