AerCap Cargo Delivers First Boeing 777-300ERSF to Fly Meta

AerCap Cargo has delivered the first of three Boeing 777-300ERSF converted freighters to Hong Kong-based leasing and ACMI/CMI provider Fly Meta Leasing Co., Ltd. The first aircraft was delivered on 21 November, with the remaining two scheduled for delivery in Q2 and Q4 2026. The aircraft will be operated under a Crew, Maintenance and Insurance (CMI) agreement by Air Atlanta Icelandic under the Hungary Air brand. The Boeing 777-300ERSF, known as “The Big Twin,” is the first passenger-to-freighter conversion of the 777-300ER and offers significantly higher payload capacity compared to existing twin-engine freighters. AerCap Cargo Head Rich Greener highlighted the aircraft’s cost efficiencies, long-range capability, and strong operational commonality, noting its role in supporting long-haul cargo operations between APAC and EMEA.

Airborne Capital Places Boeing 767-300BCF with Amerijet

Airborne Capital announced the placement and delivery of a Boeing 767-300BCF widebody freighter on long-term lease to Miami-based Amerijet International Airlines. The transaction marks Amerijet’s entry as Airborne Capital’s 31st airline customer and represents the third 767 freighter remarketed by the lessor. Founding Partner Cian Dooley said the deal reflects strong market demand for mid-sized widebody freighters and noted that additional 767-300BCF placements are expected as part of the company’s ongoing remarketing programme.

Avolon Leases Two A321neos to Royal Jordanian

Avolon has agreed to lease two Airbus A321neo aircraft to Royal Jordanian Airlines, further expanding the carrier’s new-technology fleet. The agreement builds on a prior commitment for eight A320neo aircraft, seven of which have already been delivered. Announced at the Dubai Airshow, the A321neos are scheduled for delivery in 2027 and 2028 and will support Royal Jordanian’s network growth across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. Avolon President and Chief Commercial Officer Paul Geaney said the transaction demonstrates Avolon’s ability to leverage its orderbook to provide fuel-efficient, lower-emissions aircraft aligned with airline fleet renewal strategies.

Acumen’s Take

On the 777-300ERSF Entry into Service

The delivery of the first 777-300ERSF marks a significant milestone for the widebody freighter market. With materially higher capacity than existing twin-engine alternatives, the type is well-positioned for dense long-haul cargo lanes where operators seek scale without stepping up to four-engine platforms.

On Continued Demand for 767 Freighters

Airborne Capital’s placement reinforces the enduring relevance of the 767-300BCF. The aircraft continues to strike a balance between payload, range, and operating cost, making it attractive for integrators and regional cargo specialists amid tight freighter supply.

On Avolon’s Royal Jordanian Expansion

Avolon’s incremental A321neo leasing underscores sustained airline demand for flexible, fuel-efficient narrowbody growth. For lessors, deepening relationships through follow-on placements strengthens long-term portfolio stability while supporting airlines’ emissions and cost-reduction objectives.
